no go at st davids pa store no trade ins

To all those who have contributed to this thread, thank you! I turned $36 in GS credit into $85 of MC credit. Used 4 games all listed in this thread, all held their reported values, most notably, Brink at $28. This was at the Madison Heights, MI store, had no problem making a trade at the counter in the gaming department.

What you've been told is more than likely a lie as I traded in two copies of the same game on the same console, in the same transaction and it went through fine. Everything else I traded was one each and I only brought in seven games to trade. The whole process took no longer than five minutes once the employee started the trade. Finding an employee was the hardest part. So I guess this is a case of YMMV.

Hmm, not too impressed with the BF ad. Good thing I'm using my credit for computer parts. :P ... was hoping for a 55" LED tv but nothing like that in the ad.

Headed straight to the service desk with my stack of games:
Me: I would like to trade these in today for store credit.
Rep: Trade? Where did you get these from? We don't do trades anymore.
Me: Yes, according to your ad (shows ad) you are offering trade on video games.
Rep: Well, we used to uhh (looks at ad) uhh.... let me check with manager (dials manager).
Manager: (looks at ad) okay if he has any of the games in the ad give the credit but if their not in the ad
we don't take them.

He might've run into problems cuz he was trading in 4 copies of a game. You only did two. The most I did was two as well. I think more than 2 is pushing it. Lol.

Went to the Rockville, MD store and was told that they don't have the equipment to do trade-ins. Called the Fairfax, VA and they said they don't do them either.

Traded in a whole bunch more today - mostly out of my own collection. Enjoy the new values.

They sell used games and they have a dedicated game area and they have a million employees who do nothing, so you they probably take trade ins.

Clerk told me they have had a rash of trades for that game since the Best Buy across the street is selling it for $9.99

I also noticed that Brink was sitting on the shelf brand new, selling for $17, which I find bizarre.

i sort of want to get in on this but i'd rather wait it out until Friday when i have some spare time lol

Just got back from microcenter. i ask the guy on the game department to check bulletstorm for ps3, which is at $17 right now, since BB has it for 7.99 new.

Went back today and traded Halo Reach standard edition ($15) and Fable 3 standard ($10). The girl mentioned that Fable 3 limited edition was going for about $20. I can't remember the actual number she tossed out. I asked her about COD Black Ops hardened edition and it is going for $10 but the regular is going for $22. Go figure.

She made a point of asking me to tell everyone that they take trade-ins year round and not just during the holidays. She even said that she is happy to look up TIV if people call in.
