My PS2 was doing that disc read error thing, so I called Sony to repair it, then I happened again. I called Sony again and they said I had two options. I could repair it again, or send it to them and they would send me a refurbished one. Which one should I do?

Refurbished. What that means is that somebody returned it and said that something was wrong with it, and sony either fixxed it or just put it in a new box. These are usually perfectly fine.

The best solution would be to send it to me, and in return recieve eternal happiness.

You can't give that! Eternal happiness can only be portioned out by the cosmos!

The only eternal happiness is a quick death.

You clearly have never ordered "Just A Humongous Bucket Of Eggs And Meat" from the menu at Denny's.

This happened to me a while ago. No way in hell was I going to drop a couple bills on shipping my broken PS2 to Sony, just to have them send me someone else's broken PS2. So I did a little research, and found this:

It is a very, very simple fix to perform, requires no special tools, and your PS2 will be up and running in no time.

It is a simple repair but I personally felt if there's evena remote risk of screwing it up I'd rather Sony be responsible for it then myself who's not suppoed to be mucking around in it.

That way if it gets FUBARed there's a better chance of a brand new one direct from sony in an attempt to apologize.

Send it in if its still under warranty and take the refurbished one. Youd get it faster I think. I do Disc Read Error reepair around school so if youre in the Suffolk Long Island NY area I can repair it.

If you have a new model playstation that has better anti aliases graphics and a better dvd player, than you should ask for that before you send it in.
I have a first model ps2 so I wouldn't care, but if you don't, you should.
