This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, trade-in values, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.

After searching for a game title, click the icon to pop-up a window with pricing information.

After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.

Tips

Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title!

You don't need to click a pop-up tab to filter results. Just type what you are looking for right into the search bar.
Example: gears of war prices
Example: ninjatown review

I think it deserves it's own thread, you should make one. Maybe the deals section? It's not exactly free if you have to put in a little work for it and I think it would be better than the occasional out of place thread for a dollar or two off an app that I see happen. I agree that the FAQs are clogging this thread even though I took advantage of it and it is a down time for new app sales.

Also agreed. Get this free app crap out of the iOS sales thread.

Keep it here. If it weren't, I would have missed it or passed it off as a scam. But I did my research and decided it wasnt such a big risk. Got batman and IB2 last night. But when I got to my third device, the site dropped the point value to 75 for all the sponsor apps. For now there's nothing worth all the effort for, unless u want a cheaper game.

Edit: sorry to add to the numbers. The max points u can get now is 1275, leaving you short on choices (no batman or IB2).

I was annoyed too and still am a bit. But there are also no new deals, so this thread will be silent for a but if not for this. When does the freeze end?

So I got a game, but the amount saved vs time isn't nearly as good as I would get just working and spending my own money.

Question: how does this work? EA pays this company for downloads of the sims, and then they just use that to buy gift codes?

Apple needs to work harder to prevent gaming of the charts, I think.

Just a nice tight knit community of actual gamers that cared for getting an awesome deal on games they want to really play. Over the past couple of years CAG has blown up and become more popular and famous, and with that comes the inevitable flood of hoarders and a-holes. C'est la vie. Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year everyone!

I've been a member here for eight years. EIGHT years. I've watched this place go from a fun site for deals to children, hoarders, and flippers.

I frequent bluray.com and have been a member there for just two years. I've made many friends in that 'short' amount of time and many will blindly buy something and send it to me, and vice versa. If I've ever wanted anything, I've NEVER been let down. The members are mature and polite.

CAG seems the total opposite today. From reading the posts here it seems the age range is 13-21. No one takes care of one another and it's every man for himself.

In the end it makes sense. A movie collector site has older and mature members. A gaming deal site would probably attracted kids.

This is another reason it should have its own thread, the games change, they add and remove apps/points, it's going to be an on going thing where every time new points or apps come up people could talk about it without getting a bunch of complaints witch also clog the thread.

Hmm, I must be missing something. I'm using my ipad. I cleared the cache and the cookies. But when I go back to the site, it asks for my device ID again and shows that I've already done all the promo stuff.

Julius Styles - The International is free, not sure how good it is but it features Wesley Snipes so I'm downloading it.

Well to be fair, I think the app store is frozen... But if people agree someone should make a new thread

I've been here same time as you and noticed the exact same thing. That other videogamedeal site that was around before cheapassgamer (that I can't remember the name of) got the same way as they got big too.

I blame the "Xbox Code Drop" thread. Every other post in there is from 13 year olds that just join the site to beg for "fr33 xbx CODEZ plz!!!1!three".

I think I'll follow someone's suggestion and ignore this thread for a while. All this freeapp stuff makes it a waste of time -- going through several pages only to find a few scant deals posted by Dims (ever vigilant).
I'll just play some of the cheap/free apps instead, like Where's My Water and Jetpack Joyride.

I don't know, part of me thinks we must have caught 4chan's attention recently with the recent influx of obnoxiousness. What annoys me more is that there are a small number of steady deal posters, but when the lurkers don't get what they want, suddenly dozens feel compelled to make their opinions known. It's the Internet in the age of entitlement.

Oh wait, I know what it is...holiday break. It's like summer, if you get my meaning.

Also, not sure if it was mentioned but gameloft dropped a few games in the Mac app store to a buck. I can't remember all of them, but asphalt 6, nova 2, starfront and modern combat were for sure in there. Anomaly also dropped to like $4.

The recently-released Cat Dash (came out at the end of November) is currently available for FREE.
"Cat Dash is 3rd person runner with 3 characters, each with very unique gameplay mechanics which allow you to experience a single game concept implemented 3 different ways.
Easy to play, while having enough gameplay depth to take weeks to perfectly master. Simple enough for a 3 year old while still being challenging enough for a 30 year old."

Peak Gold is the new OpenFeint FGotD.
"Work hard and harder in gold mine to reach your Peak Gold point, say goodbye
to the poor life!!"

I like being able to glance through a page and see multiple deals. Now it's a CF of this site. Granted I've been doing it and it's cool but it needs nothing more said about it outside of a mention in the OP.
Old 12-24-2011, 06:34 PM   #740
Barely on topic, but for anyone that uses a feed reader (like Google Reader) loading in appshopper.com's popular app changes feed is very useful and much easier on the eyes than the actual site.
