Yeah it was 50%. I know your saying its $5, but thats an $5 that could be put towards something else. I only ask for that reason and also so i can find out whats a timeline of holding onto your preorder for a refund.

i did a preorder for me3 and didnt pick it up and considering how much more tiv i got for my games i dont care if they keep the 5.

It's not the $5 that's the issue. It's letting BB keep the $5 so they keep doing these offers. Gotta keep feeding the goose.

If you keep pre-ordering and cancelling you're gonna get banned. That's one of the criteria that the GS people said made me a 'bad customer' cuz I was constantly pre-ordering games for the bonus promos and then cancelling either once the game came out or I'd pick up the pre-ordered game and then return it to another store.

But by all means, if leaving $5 in credit sitting there forever is really gonna break you, then go right ahead and cancel. I just know from experience where cancelling out of pre-orders got me with GS.

Then again, they also said wanting two seperate trade deals for a 40gb PS3 and a stack of 20+ games made me a bad customer and I was 'double dipping' for doing so. So if being a smart consumer in that respect makes me a bad customer, then they can still suck it as far as I'm concerned.

Im gonna try. Worst case they say no, or they allow me to transfer it to another game, if a refund is out of the question. In that case, assassian's creed steelbook here i come. Also im not a big trade in games guy. Ive preorde 4-6 times in my life and cancelled once or twice.

I try to batch my trade ins and only cancel a preorder 2-3 times a year.

But I don't flip that often so...

If you are looking for a good flip, Killzone 3 is $10 at HH Gregg. It has a base TIV of $12 so with 40% + 10% unlocked it comes out to $18.

I probably have almost enough pre-order deposits sitting at BB to buy a new release title on launch day. It sucks having about $60 tied up like that, but if the other option is being stuck with only trading to either FYE(where everything's overpriced and only ONE of my local stores still sells games other than the big titles) or the local shop(where they lowball the outta me) then I'll choose to leave those deposits sit there forever.

you should have no issues transferring your preorder 5.00 to another game.

Some values on older games are still good. Got 5.60 each for Gear's 2, Fallout 3, and Chronicles of Riddick for 360 earlier. All 3 barely got 1$-1.50$ at Gamestop.

Also went ahead and traded in Soul Calibur V. Know theres a big patch coming, but with the price tanking, couldnt resist getting 37.50$ for it.

This. I was able to get the last two copies at my local store and trade them in at the BBY a couple of stores over along with a bunch of other games; I preordered Bioshock Infinite (), which I really do want to get (so I'm less prone to cancel this preorder) to get the 40% extra.

Finally got around to updating the OP. Figures that the Sunday I'm just not around they go and change a bunch of shit up and make it complicated. heh.

God help anybody that ever has an issue with BestBuy and needs to call customer service or corporate...

Ive made 2 trips to local store, been told to call bestbuytrade.com twice(made 3 calls though) and called corporate twice...gotten nowhere every time.

Somebody please help me and tell me a number I can call that actually helps solve a problem that is on BestBuys end and not mine. I am nearly done with them.

assuming you're not rz silver just call the 1-888-bestbuy number and choose the rewardzone option. most helpful staff seems to work in the morning.

I traded in Uncharted 3 this afternoon and got $35 ($25 base/$10 promo). I didn't purchase anything or preorder anything. Appears you get a 40% bump (30% promo/10% unlocked) regardless.

Wow! So I could get $32.50 ($25 + 30% promo) without a paid membership? That is better than my amazon trade in for $31, plus I could pull the dlc for BB.

Edit: whoops this is best buy...even better now that I have unlocked. Let the flipping begin!

Unless it's something automatic I don't know about, I actually looked at the promos today. The promo for the "at least $30" for certain games is actually a 40% promo. We checked a few games, and that promo kept adding 40%.
