I picked up The Muppets steelbook when I was at best buy today. I was going to get the AC3 one too but it wouldn't fit in my ps3 collection well, so I'll pass on it for now.

Might be a hard sell to the wife since we just bought a new 55 inch 3D tv.

Don't try to "sell" it to your wife and just buy it. I know when I'm hesitant on a purchase I blame my wife too.

It'll cost as low as $50 to get a region free player. It just may not last too long. With all the cool UK steelbooks and other exclusive locked movies over there, it's worth it.

Are PS3s region specific as well? I ended up getting one for pretty cheap a few months ago and haven't used it once. I've heard they can be unlocked, that they're region free for movies to begin with, and that they'll play 3D as well. Haven't googled much... I figured I'd ask here first. I like The Return of the Living Dead art.

Yeah the PS3 does do 3D playback, it is also only a Region A player so it is not region free.

Got me my Muppets, and AC3 case.

Had 5 more of the muppets, and the AC3 cases were in the back.

With Arrow announcing that more and more of their titles are going to be locked, I just might have to do this.

Does anyone received "A Trip to the Moon Restored" G2 Steelbook early from Flicker Alley?
Old 03-27-2012, 06:23 AM   #198
Lunchboxes? Now I have seen the ultimate in horde/money wasting.

We need a thread for "ultra-cheap" steelbook movies.

I wanna find some deals so good on steelbooks they match what the movie would cost without a steelbook on the cheap.

Where is that?

I received mine yesterday (a day early). It looks great and I absolutely love the red spine.

"Ultra-cheap" and "steelbook" are not two words that are associated.
