Quite a shame the "coupon train" has ended. The only thing I can be happy about is the impact on my wallet, and I say that because I probably spent more money in that 1 year of coupon/new release deals than I have in the previous 3 years of gaming combined.

I can only hope Josh will get the support he needs to get it up and running again, because it was easily the sweetest deal in town. As it stands now however, I've got no reason to even go into Kmart anymore with a Target, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Gamestop and virtually every other competitor closer and typically similar if not better on all other goods... the games definitely got me to spend far more money in Kmart than I've ever done in the past, as well as recommend them to friends.

If it truly is to be the end, and if Josh happens to see this, thanks for what you did while you did it, it was one helluva ride, and I'll be gaming for practically another year on the games from the coupon train alone. The game sales industry definitely lost a hidden gem.

I ran the DOTD thread, and it was an awesome ride. I added roughly 10-11 games to my backlog along with that extra Wii controller. I'm going to miss it, but my wallet won't. Lol, I'm going to keep riding the free train for a while. I'm trying to save up for a car at the moment.

Kind of limbo at the moment, making some big decisions for myself in the next few weeks.

Please tell me they are going to have a deal on The Darkness 2, I never want to set foot in a Gamestop ever again.

Really appreciate it, probably only lasted as long as it did because of all of your support. Hopefully it comes back because of it.

We'll still have the circular, I just don't think decent overcomes or lackluster consumer experience. Had to heat up the deals to compel the community to even make the trip

Once they ended the $10 pre-order credits they put all their eggs in the 5 for $100 deal . Best deal going if it weren't for all the system/pre-order issues. Very curious to see what 2012's deals will be like going forward across the board.

Ahhh, so nice to see SHC Gamer; always looked forward to your posts in the Kmart Gamer thread.

I wish Target corporate would suck you up. They have nice, clean stores, a good customer experience, and a strong model going forward...but some pretty meh gaming deals. It'd be the perfect marriage.

To put it blunt, Kmart has cut back its budget and isn't letting Josh do his thing. Really sad, but we can only hope they see the light of day and accept that Josh is the true messiah and allow the gaming deals to come back to life.

You got me on the $10 pre-order credit deals. Didn't even know they existed since Kmart had my full attention with their near constant $20 coupons. The 5 for $100 was pretty good if you only wanted 5 games and didn't mind waiting until you bought all 5 of those games to see any credit. Not every game that got a coupon from Kmart was on that list either. I suppose I shouldn't have said that Best Buy offered nothing on new releases but that Kmart had them beaten nearly every step of the way. I see a constant stream of MSRP new releases in Best Buy's future as long as Kmart is out of the game.

Josh, what can we CAGs do to facilitate better things happening in your neck of the woods? In other words, who/where do we contact to politely express our thoughts about the apparent change in gaming deals?

Anybody know if there is any possibility I could still use an expired coupon?
I got one for Mario Kart 7 that expired 1/21/12.

Toys R Us Toys R Us 1/29 - 2/04 Ad: Buy 1 Get 1 40% on $19.99 games* + up to $35 GC deals**

Actually there are only 3 video game deals this week:

Buy one of these games get $10 GC or Buy both get $35 GC
(the ad picture only shows Xbox 360 version for both games, but I assume PS3 ones are also applied as usual)

Soul Calibur V $59.99
Final Fantasy XIII-2 $59.99

Buy 1 Get 1 40% OFF on ALL Value Video Games priced $19.99

Buy Nintendo DS Lite ($99.99) get Star Wars Light Saber Stylus FREE

Not bad if you want those games $17.50 off each early. If you count GCs like I do.
