I think it is pretty good so far. I would spend the money on dark souls before this and it is not better than skyrim.

I bought this right away after the IGN review and can return at gamestop now. I didn't like FF XIII but I think the new one may be better than this also. I skipped all the story in XIII 2 but the battle stuff is quicker and it seems like more fun. Reckoning is fairly great though and I agree with the 9.0 IGN. Dark souls at 35 is probably the better investment though

I had this preordered from amazon and got it day one so was pretty upset with this rapid cut. I argued with Amazon cs for a few minutes and after asking for a supervisor I was granted a "one time exception" and credited the price difference. I thank Amazon for stepping up with the credit but it shouldn't be an issue when the price drops in the same week! I have the chat if anyone wants to see it.

Just want to edit and say that I'm loving this game, combines the great aspects of every rpg and with its combat it is truly enjoyable.

This is getting rediculous, it took me almost 30 minutes on the phone to get my $15 credit from Amazon, but to me it wasn't about the money, it was the principle of the issue. I called them last week about NewEgg's $45 price, they said they don't price match, but they would give me free release date delivery. I'm already a Prime member, so I should be getting that anyway (remember when release date delivery was almost always a perk for Prime member pre-orders?), but i agreed.

The game didn't arrive until Wednesday, so I didn't get the shipping upgrade, but it didn't bother me that much.

When I saw the price was $45 today, I called and bitched up a storm. The rep I got barely spoke English, told me they don't price match (obviously not understanding why I was calling in the first place) and I demanded to speak to a Manager. After being on hold for 10 minutes, the rep finally came back and told me that they would issue a "one-time" credit for the difference.

Amazon's service and appreciation of their customers has quickly been declining, over the last year or so, and I am actually considering cancelling my Prime account if this keeps up.

EDIT: LOL, the above post was made while I was typing, but yeah, I got the same frustrating BS.

why don't you guys just buy a new copy and return it if they get so crazy about it... free shipping and you still get the codes. It can be easier just to go this route sometimes or once you say I am going to do that and your policy allows it they give in.

they gave me a $10 credit torwards my next game.
I am happy with that.

If you order now it is pretty safe to assume you will NOT get the preorder codes

Very fun game, highly underrated. Think though it'll fly under the radar for most gamers since there wasn't a ton of marketing done. Still think it might give Skyrim a run for it's money come award time. And I think Skyrim was incredible.

Well, I tried to get an $15 credit and the Amazon CS said no way, real hard line on the issue. I was advised to return the game and reorder if I wanted the cheaper price.

I doubt it will hit the 20 dollar range anytime soon, but I could see it hitting 40ish before the summer once or twice.

I would be ok with this price, but I still have a ton of Skyrim to finish up, and ME3 soon. I think I will sit on it till tomorrow evening and if it is still available make a decision.

the problem is i really never heard about this game till the demo 2 weeks ago. they really should of advertised it better.

anyways i think this is because amazon didn't offer good deals on this game at launch like some other places like newegg did. honestly amazon as of late has lost a lot of buisness from me becuase of this =p

Maybe, too many other games to play either way.

Since TRU is offering this at $45 as well, would that make a BB PM possible?

Some BB have been matching the price. Just tell them to search for the game on the TRU website, or pull it up on your phone.

Emailed Amazon support, explained the issue and asked for the difference in credit, or something, and what they said was:

Hello,

I'm sure it's disappointing to see the lower price on the "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" you recently purchased. Our prices regularly change, and the price you paid when your order shipped was the lowest price we were able to offer at the time.

You can visit our pricing policies in our Help pages to read more:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...?tag=cheapassgam08-20&nodeId=468502

Although prices fluctuate, our service does not. I hope you'll give us another opportunity to serve you in the future.
That last line killed me.

*edit* Strange, I just got an email and they decided to give me the refund after all, they said they reviewed the chat log.
