The game runs fine on my crappy four-year-old laptop, so I'm guessing you'll be good. But there's a demo on the store if you want to check its performance before buying; that's what I did.
so would you suggest shelling out 4 bucks more for the soundtrack version?

How come the soundtrack is also on sale on Steam for $9.98 (normal price $24.98), while it seems that you can buy it also here (official and legally) for $10 (normal price)?

Found the link here.

Edit: Nevermind, was reading the wrong price. The OST is selling on Steam for $3.99. My bad.

Bastion is great and totally worth the 7-8 hours you might spend on it....assuming you only do one playthrough. I say this as a guy who doesn't even really like action RPGs.

Glad you like Co-Optimus! It's a great pleasure working there, especially since I get to play so many co-op games as part of my job. I mostly review 360 games and another staffer will be reviewing Orion: Dino Beatdown, but I'm still pumped for the game. Will be posting reminders for the contest daily since everyone can enter once a day.

I rarely play campaigns twice but for Bastion I had to make an exception. I got 14 hours out of 2 playthroughs and pretty much completed the game.

The downside for CAGs is that the cost-per-hour doesn't measure up to games with long quests and/or multiplayer.

Just found out that Bastion is also available on the Mac App Store, but it's not on sale. I'd probably say that Steam has the edge because of the duality (Mac + PC version) plus the crazy sales.

My previous favorite game soundtracks were Super Metroid and Chrono Trigger, and honestly I didn't think anything would ever unseat them. I'm considering getting a CD copy (in spite of the fact that I no longer own a CD player), just to support the composer. I really, really like it.

Music being as subjective as it is, I should mention that you can listen to the whole soundtrack for free at the Bandcamp page Azuvidexus linked above to see if you think it's worth picking up.

Bastion wasn't bad but I found it more or less boring. Was happy to see the end credits roll but it was not entirely wasted time. Should really be $5 or less by now

And filthy Ura scum should have all died. The calamity was right!

Bastion was one of very few recent games that met and surpassed my unusually, relatively high expectations. Usually I plan for crap, to be pleasantly surprised, but after all I'd heard about it, I had high hopes and wasn't let down. I played through it three times to get all the achievements and regret neither the time nor money spent.

That part made me smile, heheheh.

I am confused how you played it if you didn't buy it.

Do you have a source for that? I was quoting Clayton (internal customer service rep from GreenManGaming) when I said "security issues", because I'd prefer not to spread rumours or invent explanations. If it's a regional Paypal issue, any company can restrict Paypal payments to only come from Paypal accounts of one or more regions. Or they could simply not allow Paypal payments from certain regions. If GMG have failed to do this, it's not their security issues after all - it's (checks Cambridge dictionary) hyper-retardism.

Are you talking about this Nuuvem? How many countries have they blocked? How many customers completely lost access to their accounts without warning, and any account credit they had accrued within? And for how many months/years have they done this? Google wasn't able to help me (my Portugese is a little bit non-existent), but if I should be warning people away from Nuuvem, I'd like to know.

Inconceivable. Now stop being reasonable, I'm trying to watch the weekly RollingSkull witch hunt.

Agreed on all points. I kept having people tell me what a great game it was, and generally by the time I actually get around to playing something everyone is recommending, my hopes are either too high or I realize those people have mediocre taste. Bastion is perhaps one of few games where I got more than I was expecting, can't recommend it enough.

Indeed

It's my natural reaction to disagree with anybody who tells me "YOU MUST LIKE THIS", maybe it's something I was brought up with, who knows. But in this case, I felt the buzz around Bastion was worth it. The whole experience is just wonderful. It's one of the few games (like Portal 2) that I look forward to re-playing once I've left it long enough to make it feel "fresh" again

Only 7 hours to go on the Leisure Suit Larry Kickstarter. It's already funded, but they're just shy of the mark for adding extra content to the game. Please contribute, adventure game fans! You can use PayPal if you like.

So I looked it up on The Big List of 3rd Party DRM on Steam and apparently it did have SolidSheild DRM at one point but has since been removed via a patch.

Seems safe at this point.
