From the Amazon games and software download help page.

Unfortunately Batman AC isn't one of the titles that they offer :(
good advice. i usually just use amazon myself but like you said it's not available there.

The Coldstrike Campaign and the Reinforcement Pack (the only two available) both come in the four pack, so for a couple bucks, you're getting the complete set.

That's what I did when I ran out of Bionic Commando: Rearmed installs and the assholes at SecuROM wouldn't provide a new key. Of course, I ended up buying another copy through Steam, so I'm back at 'legal' status once more. I've also bought it twice on 360 (one English, one Japanese), so that's four total purchases of one great game.

For those of you upset about the Batman: AC activation limit, GamersGate has a similar policy to Amazon in that they'll give you more activations upon request if you run out. AC is sold there, but is only down to $30 right now. I'm personally waiting till it goes on sale there (or pops up on sale on Amazon).

Checked again securom thing, I was wrong. After revoking, I have to activate it again to play. I don't know if it's diagnostic tool or game problem, but I was able to revoke application, but when I clicked license information tab, it didn't consider batman as securom using game. I already edited my posts to prevent confusion. So now I hope that AC GOTY will have only revokable machines limit, not also the activation number one.

You know, all this talk about Arkham City Securom and GFWL makes me glad I got it for a buck on Onlive when they had that crazy deal last year and don't have to worry about any of this mess.

It's possible they could go tits up one day, lord knows they haven't been getting much on the way of decent releases lately, but even if they do I think I more than got my dollar's worth out of it.

The only thing worse I can think of than having to deal with the game with Securom and GFWL live is getting it on Origin and having to deal with EA's crappy service on top of the Securom and GFWL.

I'm not disagreeing with your stance on OnLive - not in the least. But your post is a great illustration of exactly how unhinged we PC gamers are when it comes to DRM.

Each DRM service, steam and onlive included, has a downside and no upside for the end user.

OnLive, to me, is the ultimate crapshoot. I feel like they are so ripe for purchase by Apple, Facebook, or maybe Netflix, if they're big enough. At which point, who knows what happens to existing customers and subscriptions.

We all hate the DRM, but everyone seems to have their breaking point. Some people can't bear the thought of going without some AAA title on release day, so they put up with the DRM (and complain loudly). Others, especially us CAGs, are willing to put up with some amount of DRM when the price is right. That's me, for sure. For $5 games like I can get on Steam (and OnLive), I don't really care about the DRM... although I buy DRM-less when I can, on principle and to help show developers that they really can make money that way.

Seems to me that the best way to send a message is to actively boycott DRM-infested titles, and make a point to buy them only when the publisher turns down or removes the DRM severity. It's not a very powerful message in the flood of games being marketed and snapped up, but I do believe in voting with your wallet. If nothing else, it makes you feel better about the games you play, when you're playing them. And in the meantime, actively discourage those you know who pirate games. They give us all a bad name.

Is didn't realize Arkham City had an activation limit. Is there really no way to deactivate it? I'm getting my new notebook on Monday, and I'd rather not use another install.

Sort of. I thought I didn't enjoy this type of game anymore. I hadn't played one in years that I could really get into. Then I got this free from Puppy Games a few weeks ago when they had that birthday promo and I really like it. There's a demo here if anyone wants to try it out.

I would disagree with you on that point. I now prefer to have my games on Steam instead of managing physical discs. The convenience of the download, autopatching, cloud saves, etc is a huge upside for me, personally.

More or less. You can also upgrade your ship as you go along.

If you like the genre it's not a bad little game at all. I got it for free when the developer was giving out Steam keys on his birthday.

re: Titan Attacks.

IIRC, the dev was giving this away for free recently.

Yeah, I'm almost positive they are going to get bought out at some point. They are way ahead of their time for what they are trying to do, and imo, they don't have the resources and clout to pull it off successfully long term. They are already running into problems getting publishers to sign on.

I do think (and I know nearly everyone hates this idea right now) that eventually down the line this is where gaming is going though we're still a ways off from that. There's no way the publishers won't push for server side ownership of games if they can get away with it.

Actually there are some good points to though. It essentially removes the need for consoles other than as small little streaming devices (like what Onlive has) and might finally get rid of all the crappy console port nonsense for good since developers wouldn't be held back by ancient hardware with lots of limitations.

It would also make tech support way easier, so yeah the industry is going to push for this as soon as they can get away with it. It seems unthinkable now, but people laughed at Steam and Netflix streaming when they first came out thinking no one would want to use those services either.

Anyone else get an error when trying to activate your key? I already own the game so I gave it to a friend. He reported back to me that the key was already used.

I love Titan Attacks. This coming from someone who really does not enjoy games like Space Invaders, Galaga, Arkanoid, etc. Way more worth $2.50 than a lot of games I've gotten for that price.

I was just coming to get impressions on this. Anybody think it will end up cheaper? Is it worth it? What about the DLC?
