The multiplayer experience for DS3 is about average, it's not bad or particularly good.
Ugh. I had hoped for something more Borderlandsy. I was going to play with friends, but even that sounds bad. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, if you owned any of the old DS games on disc, you probably could just add them as a Non-Steam game.
You'd only have some of the Steam benefits, though - i.e. see your Steam friends list and screenshot-taking.

Tempted to bite on DS, but not being able to buy the first two separately and the bad things I've heard about 3 aren't helping.

I had the first one a long time ago but after several moves I honestly have no flipping clue where the disc is so it's easier for me to just not ever have to worry about that sort of nonsense again.

I was thinking about biting on the complete pack, just for DS 1 & 2 but since those don't come with the expansions and I could care less about the third game, I'm walking away.

Is there anywhere to actually buy the first two games online? Did a search and couldn't find anything that wasn't overpriced copies on Amazon.

Understandable, since Steam makes things easy...
But, here's the thing - Steam versions of DS1 + 2 do NOT come w/ their expansions, nor the MP/Co-Op.
Just so you know...

Hmm, so apparently people are saying DS 2 Broken World can be made to work on the Steam version with some registry editing

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1829685

It's $3.99 and free shipping on Amazon with $25 or more or Prime

http://www.amazon.com/Dungeon-Siege-...dp/B000FHB8Q8/

I just ordered it and will give it a shot.

The DS I expansion is more complicated since it includes the base game built in and is not a separate pack. Plus all the copies I found online indicate the rights now fell to Ubisoft and I don't want to think about what kind of nasty DRM they'd put on it.

Ooh, held off on other purchases for Dungeon Siege Complete and got it. Don't care about multiplayer, so none of those issues affect me anyway.

I enjoyed the demo of DSIII and am just wrapping up Titan's Quest, so for $10, I have a lot of good gaming coming my way. I like the single player hack and slash. I hope the first two run on Windows 7 without issue -- I'm not very handy when it comes to workarounds. (That's why I didn't buy Fallout yesterday).

Nobody claimed my 75% off EVE online coupon. PM me if you want it. I'll gladly accept an unwanted coupon in exchange.

I should have never bought Civ 5 a few weeks ago. Amazing game. I can't wait for the expansion.

wow im glad that the dungeon siege pack is so cheap finally. Ive been waiting for it to drop down to this price range. it has always been something ridiculous like 30 or 40 dollars.

So many deals, just that I already have such a backlog that I have to be very selective.

Hopefully I can clear that out and Steam has a nice summer sale that I can get a lot of these at.

So today is the last day of the SE sale? Kind of interested in The Last Remnant and Thief: Deadly Shadows, but 50% seems to be the most they'll go for. Worth it at the prices they are? Have they been cheaper?

Thief has def been 5 dollars before and Last Remnant has been down to 10 I believe

Tidalis is meh; got a budget feel to it, but there's a level editor if that kinda thing floats your boat. Take note, if you're an achievement whore, such as myself, one of them will require grinding or glitching for hours, and another is semi-borked with some of the achievement whore websites, because they overwrote an original chv with a summer sale event one a few back.

The Last Remnant is on the You Mean It Redeems On Steam? list, so you could try to find a cheap boxed copy.
Old 03-26-2012, 12:59 AM   #959
Heads up: A demo for Tidalis is available on its Steam page.

The lowest Thief 3 has been on Steam is $2 during one of the major sales -- not saying it'll drop to that anytime soon but just throwing it out there for people wondering how low they'll go.
