Problem is, playing Coconut Queen will make your hardware go soft very quickly.

Wait... I thought I might buy Risen 2 if it would win but I just realised it's fairly new and still 50 euros. 33% off won't cut it then, so I guess I'll vote for Witcher 2.

Recently, a fan of Coconut Queen contacted me to ask about the sequel. It’s true, we tried setting the game up to end on a cliffhanger, with lots of unanswered questions, to help push for a sequel. We loved making that game, as the subject material was rich with humorous opportunities wrapped around a very solid mechanic.

But the sequel was not meant to be. As I explained to George T., the game was a critical success but a commercial flop. I won’t go into the reasons, but the game made back less than 10% of what it cost to develop it, by my calculations. Under those circumstances, no sane company would throw more money at a franchise, and I’m not one to disagree!
That game couldn't have cost $100 to make. So it's made $10. Motoki was like 50% of all sales!

Well, I was going back and forth on the Crysis collection. Until I inevitably saw "SecuROM." That pushed me a little more back than forth.

I guess that means nothing for me today. Huzzah! Still thinking about Metro 2033, but at least I have most of tomorrow to decide.

Ugh, just because Skyrim is 50% off doesn't mean Morrowind and Oblivion have to be. Come on Steam wtf. Give me 75% on those...

I'm seriously debating Crysis pack. Anything that can be said about these games that would possibly sway my decision?

You gots some magical steam store 'cause my Mor/Obliv are 40% off.

Yours is outrageous as well but still 10% less so than mine.

Re: Crysis. Securerom? That seems to have helped people decide on way or another.

Many people who loved Crysis 1 (and Warhead) aren't too thrilled by Crysis 2. They thought it suffered from console-fication. That's what I heard.

Hmm you are right, they are 40% still...which is more outrageous. I just want them to go down to 75% off so i can stop looking at steam and getting reeled in by these deals lol. Its all in Valves master plan probably ><

The securom seems only for crysis 1. It says "5 machine activation limit". Does that mean you can use it on 5 different PC's at max? Or you can install it only 5 times on one machine?

Also, does anyone know where you can find how many activations have been "used"?

ZeniMax/Bethesda is just another one of those publishers which rarely discounts their mainline games let alone for a deep discount when they finally do.

I'm pretty sure that the 40%-off/$11.99 price-tag on Morrowind is what it was when it first came to Steam with a discount which they then quickly adjusted to $14.99 if memory serves. (I can look through my purchase history for the exact price but I remember buying it just before they adjusted it upwards)

edit: Checked my history; it was $11.19.

*sigh* Thanks for the history heads up. Depressing but needed information.

Price history shows a few $9.99. Still too expensive for a game Ive bought probably three times. Under ten is a huge mental relief I think.

The activation for Crysis 1 and Warhead was raised to 50.
Old 07-17-2012, 05:33 AM   #13497
I'd argue that the original Crysis was more open than 2 in terms of map layouts but it was still quite linear. It had more of a playground vibe but Crysis was never truly a sandbox.

Oblivion had three $4.99 blips. Damn I wish I had been there for those...

That's for the retail version. I don't think the same applies to the Steam/Origin version, unless it's been confirmed recently..

Keep in mind that with Oblivion there's a Game of the Year Edition (includes Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles expansions) and a Deluxe Edition (includes Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles expansions plus Fighter's Stronghold Expansion, Spell Tome Treasures, Vile Lair, Mehrune's Razor and much more) so I'm not sure which hit the $5 mark but, knowing Bethesda, my guess would be the GOTY one with less content.

Yeah my history says $8.50 on the Deluxe Edition (June 2010) so I'm guessing that would mean that the GOTY Edition was $5.
