I also ordered a PS3 steelbook but received the Xbox 360 version in the mail today. Sigh...

I just checked my steelbook -
The label says PS3 - but I picked up the 360 version of the game....

Oopsie - I wasn't smart enough to think that they might have different versions of the steelbook lol.

Just got back from my local Best Buy they had both versions of the steelbook as well as the posters so i grabbed all three an when I got to the counter the dude didn't get what was happeniing an tried to sell it for like $200 until the manager told him the order. Then they said I cant have the poster or steelbook bc it was a pre-order gift. I complained that they were on the floor an the lady i talked to on the phone said it was ok an set them aside. All in all I got my 360 steelbook and game. They had 1-2 left for 360 an 1 left for ps3 still on the shelf w the game.

On thursday I picked up the Blackwatch ED, steelcase and, gamer mag at first and was rang up to total 135.xx and was told later that they had different bundles and I had to choose between the mag or steelcase. I'm sure if they had the poster that it would be the same as well. So it was an easy choice to get what I really wanted,which was the steelcase for ps3.

Ordered to 360 sizes but got ps3 sizes.
Darn, but for $5 each, cant complain.

If not then it's possibly they might comp you $5 GC for the troubles.

I ordered a $5 PS3 steelbook, but got a 360 version instead.

Today I went up to my local BB and told one of the gamer guys and asked if they had more steelbooks left. They had plenty of the PS3 steelbooks. I grabbed one and took it up to customer service for an exchange. At first they were a little puzzle about the price discrepancy, and she told me it was probably ringing up differently because I was suppose to purchase the game with it. She even asked if I wanted to purchase the game, but I told her "no, not right now." I just told her I was able to order one online for $5, so she asked someone about it. They went up there and told her to just do an equivalent exchange and that was it. Went pretty smoothly.

Not only did I get the wrong steel book (ordered 360 got PS3), but I didn't get the game. Charged 49.99 for the steel book. Gotta love online preorders!

Heading in to my BBY tomorrow, and hoping I have no issues with the return, as online said the 360 steel books are sold out.

Be careful there, YMMV not going into all the details but Best Buy may/or may not call the police for theft on these types of things. Where pre orders contain physical items.

can someone explain the difference between the 360 and ps3 steelbooks (same goes for other games like me3, mw3, etc)?

I was at one store this weekend that had steelbooks AND the poster. the poster is packaged and is probably better than a typical poster given out. the poster would not ring up as free when I bought the game and steelbook (zeroed out). I should have just bought the poster as well and then contacted one of the bby people.

the only way that should be possible is if you preordered online and all the items were there when you picked up or it was shipped and only the game shows up on receipt. Or the person doing returns didn't realize or care that 2 items were free as part of a package deal.

Ordered X360, got a Ps3 steel book... Called, was told I'd get call back eventually, and to try going to the store to swap for the right one. The Store said they wouldn't do it and turned me away basically. I think I'm just going to return the game and rebuy it with BB credit. Bestbuy is nice with site orders issues but the discrepancy of just doing simple swap stuff in the store is retarded.

Count me among the many who received the wrong steelbook. Ordered a PS3 one, received a 360 one.

It's the size of the case. 360 steelbooks are the size of regular DVD cases, while PS3 steelbooks are the size of blu-ray cases (an inch or so shorter than DVD cases).

I got the wrong one as well. Got the 360 game and received a PS3 steelbook. :/

Legit question...

Did ANYONE who ordered a steelbook get what they ordered, or are ALL orders the opposite?

I'm hazarding a guess that they were ALL opposite.

I gave Best Buy another call today and they took some notes, but said to give them a few more days.

Sigh...

Maybe we should should all pair up and do swaps.

I got my second opposite steelbook today, but it occurred to me that they actually match the size of my PS3 steelbooks for Assassin's Creed III and Mass Effect 3, so I guess there's that silver lining.

I went to BB on Saturday because I got the 360 steelbook and the CSR let me swap it out for a PS3 one. He was going to return the 360 one and sell me the PS3 but it wasn't working so he said just take it and I'll keep the one you don't want LOL.
