Same. The Amazon deals thread is full of people like that, I have half of them on ignore.

Since they're already giving out 20% discounts to a lot of customers, why not have a program where you pay them a one time fee to also get the discount? That would truly be the win-win in this scenario.
This might be an overall "good idea" but offering it to everyone wouldn't fit what they're going for: compensation to customers who were jerked around by the whole thing.

I disagree that this will be a terrible loss to them, or at least I'm not convinced. Not everyone got the discount, just people who were refunded (vs those who got to keep their packs). And GamersGate doesn't run a lot of big sales on big titles that the people who came just for Bethesda/BL2 are going to stalk the place waiting to pounce on a Ship Simulator Extreme deal. Even if the Blue Coin thing goes unfixed, I've tried explaining to people about using BCs and they look at me as though I'm trying to explain how to construct a homunculus. I just don't see all the people who heard about the deal on Reddit or something really using this consistently and GG figured it was better to provide a discount that would rarely be used by most of the people than potentially being forced into giving them a $350 pack for $25.

Of course, this is GamersGate so equal odds that a talking spirit caribou told Ashot P. to do this in a fever dream.

My totally unscientific remembering of the "Tutor" board during the fiasco is that most of the posts about the pack were from level 1 or 2 accounts.

Anyone who is in the same situation as me, please send me a PM.

Thanks!
I was in the same situation, except I was refunded a few hours later after my payment went trough PayPal because of some random security check.

This is the ticket I send to them:

Hi.

Today/yesterday I brought the Bethesda New Year Collection from the site using Paypal. Everything went fine, the payment was completed and the money was deducted from my Paypal account, I also got my Gamersgate confirmation e-mail.

However a few hours later I got an e-mail from Paypal that the system had reversed my payment as an anti-fraud measure. Here is the e-mail content, if you need I can forward the original message:

Hello Salvador Valencia,

To assist you, PayPal uses antifraud systems to detect and prevent fraud.

A review of the transaction below raised a suspicion that it may have not been authorized. As a result, we've reversed this transaction.

Transaction Details
Transaction Date: 21/12/2012 22:04:28 GMT-06:00
Transaction Amount: $28.76 USD
Seller's Email: support@gamersgate.com

If you have questions or believe this transaction was reversed in error, please log in to your PayPal account and click the Contact Us link.

Sincerely,
PayPal

I got in contact with them immediately to let them know that I had full control over my account and I was the person that I had made the purchase, I also asked them to undo the reverse payment but they told me I had to send the money again, that's the reason I'm asking if you can reissue my invoice so I can pay it again.

Thanks for any help.

This is the response I got:

Hi
I'm really sorry to see that you experience these issues. Im afraid we are unable to reissue and debit customers apart from the system.

Best regards,
Ashot P.
Customer Service @ GamersGate

I got all my keys and my order still shows as Complete on my account. So, even if you want to pay them I don't think you can do anything about it.

Oh dear, they just refunded everyone who gifted the packs to themselves... Some people working at GG are truly incompetent.

Yeah GG usually doesn't really run great sales on high demand titles. Compared to other distributors I've bought very little from them. +1 though for working homunculus into a post.

So because I didn't get to access a key from either the Bethesda or BL2 packs, I lost the chance to keep them.

Would have been nice for GG to honor all purchases, since my payment and order clearly went through and the games were in my library. I'm disappointed with this. I also hate myself a bit for not accessing my keys right after the games were in my library.

Same. I'd rather have a Bethesda bundle or two than the 20% personally, since I pretty much got most of what I planned to buy since Summer.

Go for it, its a great price for a great collection of games. Theres only a few losers in the pack, looking at c&c4 (which I havent tried) and renegade which I just wasnt a fan of but was still interesting.

C&C is still basically like Dune, since it was the same company to begin with anyway, they kept basically the same formula over the years so I dont know why you wouldnt like em. I picked em up but that was mainly as insurance since I have the decade collection on dvd but always worry about losing it or scratching it, this way I have a permanent online backup plus picked up the few games I didnt have.

If you get the 20% off its a killer deal, if not you can always try holding out for a better deal to show up at amazon since they were running it at 30$ earlier, so who knows, it might come back on the EC list

Just a data point for the BL2 packs:
I received the email this morning and got all my BL2 keys. I managed to get 2 keys on the first night, sent everything else as a gift to myself during the wait, and never filed a ticket or got a refund.

While this was a great deal, I don't think I'll go through this kind of thing again, since it was a pain in the ass to deal with. Also, I'm not sure whether I want to deal with GG in the future. I got a Cargo Commander GG gift as part of a trade, and I still have not gotten a key or response to my ticket after several weeks.

Yeah, I got my Borderlands 2 keys as well. I'm just happy the problem is solved, for the most part. I was selfish and bought quite a bit so I had a lot of funds tied up in my PayPal account.

If only GG would have handle this whole mess on a better way... this is the response they should have came with the morning right after the Bethesda glitch (except for the 20% discount of course). Instead of that they waited a whole week to start giving refunds without checking. Now you have people who opened an account only to get the glitched prices and got the keys, a refunded order and a 20% discount for a whole year. Let's see how they limit the way the discount is gonna be used because this thing could hit them pretty hard.

I'm happy i'm getting my keys and i don't really care that much about the discount cause i buy things from Gamersgate ocassionally, but i think the biggest losers here are the people who have been with Gamersgate for a while and didn't got on this whole mess. Those loyal customers are not getting anything.

But then again if you think about it - most resellers ordered two copies of the bundles. To fulfill them GG would have to buy keys for all those games. Their original bundle was supposed t be $95 so I don't know what their margins are, but let's assume the keys would cost them $75. Instead of spending $150 to fulfill one reseller order/account, they cancel and give a 20% discount. Said reseller/account would have to spend $750 in a year to get that discount. I really doubt the average consumer or reseller is going to spend that much or anywhere near that much at GG in the next year. Especially if they cut back on sales in response. So overall it might be the smart business move.

On a better note, I hope the constant whiners finally STFU and GTFO of this thread and we can get back to deals and games.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm one of the people who got refunded as I had to gift the bundle to myself and was never able to get any keys before the site went down and the glitch corrected. I haven't seen a 20% discount show up on my account yet but even when it does I can't imagine that I would spend $750 there so I don't think they will lose money on me.

God damnit, I didn't get any keys for some reason. The games never even showed up in my library, just the collection with no other icons/options to get a key. It's still in my all games but the picture isn't there on the shelf anymore. Guess I missed out on not only the Borderlands 4 pack but also the Bethesda deal now.

Also, don't think I'll get a discount because I bought it off of another CAG.

Essentially they're saying "We made a mistake, but we'll let you have it for that price anyway. Even though it really hurts us a lot" Suck it up and don't try to make your customer feel bad because YOU made the mistake.

I'm glad to see it resolved though so that we can get back to deals.

You mean "...get back to stalking pricing errors".

Command and Conquer Collection is such a good deal for $16 (20% discount on Blue Coins + 20% Discount on Game). The lowest I predict without that is $20 via Amazon.

Because wanting to get either products you paid for OR a refund of the money you paid and instead of being stuck in limbo for weeks is entitlement. Right.

For the record I still don't have most of the Bethesda games or the money back.

Considering a bunch of people are taking advantage of the 20% off blue coins glitch, yes, many of us see the discount. It even works for preorders, for me.
