This DOES work without override but may be YMMV because I got it to work at my target today on a bundle marked 29.98 with NO override needed at all. Total was 10.71 after tax.

Goldeneye 007 can be PM'd with a Gamestop ad for 29.99, and should be about 10 after coupon.

The coupon worked, but it only took off the price of the most expensive one and did not apply the remainder to any other items. So it was only going to be $11.98 off instead of $20 I was tempted just to take that since I didn't really want any more of the $29.99 stuff but I held off (and just used all 3 coupons at the second store). But if you find a $14.98 or $18.98 clearance item that might be a better alternative than picking up a $39.99 game or a $29.99 game you already have. I'm not even sure you'd need anything else to bring the total up to $29.99 - it seems like it just applies to the most expensive single item you get.
damn, thanks for the heads up though!

The Target mobile rep at my store took his job way too seriously...the whole thing was ymmv based on his preference and he let ev'one know it:

One coupon per household...period
Cannot trade in two of the same game
Radio Shack loses money on this deal (rep claimed to be from the Shack)

The guy at my Target followed every rule to the letter of law and even added some.
He even made sure I bought a 29.99 game right there in the Electronic section.
He said there was no such "Promo Game" code for this deal.
Has anyone traded at a Southern California Target and got them to use the "Promo Game" code?
Thanks

29.99 - Rise of Nightmares Xbox360 Kinect

I've been looking for this game for a while and used it is 25 at Amazon and $25 used at Gamestop. Not for everyone, but have not seen it mentioned.

Also confirming like loc0bob the coupon can be used on duleshock bundles, I have the receipt to prove it.

I know everyone has their own taste in games, but I would avoid Rise of Nighttmares even at $10. A game like that is supposed to be immersive and fun, but when Every basic action needs to be done multiple times to register properly it turns into more of a hassle than a gane. Granted I only played for a little while before deciding I hated it more than terrorism so I cant give a truly fully informed opinion.

Just to give you guys a heads up target mobile had a conference call and they def mentioned the promo codes and where to find them. Its just certain reps are being hard ass just to be.
I know because i have two friends who are target mobile Managers. Also does anyone want the ass creed revelation online pass (xbox 360) and the uncharted 3 online pass?? I have no use for them

The guy at one of the targets I went to yesterday was the manager, and he mentioned the conference call, but made it seem that one managers were in on the call. He even said that most associates probably wouldn't know the details of the sale. So it's very possible that the rep honestly just doesn't know about the promo code, unless he read the details of the promo or if his manager told him about it.

I did not see this posted so forgive me if this has been brought up. What happens if you buy a $29.99 game, use the coupon, and then return the game? Would you get $9.99 (plus tax) or would you get a store credit $29.99 (plus tax)?

Io and others, the promo code information is on the target mobile employees' screen when they select more details/information on this "trade 2games get $20 coupon" promotion.

Once they select this promotion, there should be a link to further details/specifics on the promo. That link will give all the details including informing them to use promo game if the game being traded doesn't show up.

If they follow every other retailer in the world, they would not let you defraud them out of $20. You would likely get $10 back, since that's what you paid. If you bought a pack of paper towels and used a coupon, do you think they'd give you the full price back? It isn't a gift card, it's a coupon.

As usual being a CAG you are put into that akward position of knowing more about a promo than the employee does and that results in them getting defensive if you try to interject too much into their set procedures . But I'd like a little more info about exactly where they have this written down so I can try being a little more direct next time if needed.

I was lucky enough to get a VERY knowledgeable Mobile guy when I did my trade yesterday. When he logged into the system, and email was already opened on his screen. I asked (playing dumb because I've read enough of this thread to know there is a mythical 'word from corporate') "what's that?"

He said "It's an email from corporate. Apparently the ad was supposed to say 'select games' but it basically says any games. So these are the instructions to enter a promo code for games that don't show up'

I played dumber: "So I could trade in any game? Even if it doesn't show up in the system?".

He said "Just about. As long as it's for one of these systems. All because of a typo"

Did you go through the front checkouts?

Did you see the employee type in any numbers on the register?

I went through he front checkouts and it wouldn't apply.

Maybe the electronics dept. managers don't have to override

Yeah and the guy i dealt with the other day specifically reminded me that if I were to return my game I wouldnt get the value of the coupon back. I knew that already of course. Why would they give you credit for money you didnt spend? LOL

I usually have the worst luck in the world when it comes to getting reps to workaround issues. So, naturally my two games weren't in the system and weren't accepted. I tried telling the rep to type in promo game 1 and try but he said they can't do that. I quietly left after that but not before getting Mad Men seasons 1 & 2 on blu-ray for $15. At least that made me happy.
