i walked into my local target, here in compton, to trade in a few games. some games i was still questioning if i should trade them in or not (darksector,watchmen...havent beaten them/ earned enough achievements) i manged to find my old Ps2 games. walked up to the rep and he just looked at the games. didnt care about the conditions. he just asked if i wanted to trade all of my games in and let me know that some people wont let me stack the coupons on one transactions and some do. depending on the associate. this guy was really cool, he just did his thing on the computer. i walked over to gamestop right after to by some more cheap ps2 games. 3 bucks a piece. went back and traded them in.

I walked out with Kid Icarus for 20, uncharted for 10 and sonic generations for 3DS

I'm going crazy on this deal ... I have so many old games I want to get rid of and this is by far the way to get the most value out of them. $10 for all my old guitar hero and sports and PS2 games? Yes, please.

Yeah, I just found some pretty bad PS1 and PS2 games that I picked up for $1 awhile back to hopefully trade in tomorrow. Also, I will attempt to trade in Sneak King, which I bought at GS, to get a 50% bonus on trade ins a few months back. Please take my really bad games and give me some coupons to buy some awesome games.

So-just making sure this will or will not work- I can walk in with 2 of the same games that are not in the system, give the rep the promo, then I get $20 towards a game?

Then how about I push my luck and give in 10 more of the same game and the rep puts in the promo a few more times... can I get $120 for two full retail games? hahaha

Then is it possible to put that $120 as a pre-order for games that haven't released?

I wish this thread had more people giving examples as to what games to get. I want some creative ideas here. I have most of the triple A titles already.

The part I highlighted in red is YMMV, depending on if the target mobile employee cares about helping you and if they know about the promo method.

Uncharted 3
Portal 2
Dead Island
Crysis 2
Rayman Origins
Gears Of War 3
Sonic Generations
Kinect Sports
LA Noire Complete
Shadows Of The Damned
Left 4 Dead 2
NFS: Hot Pursuit
Dead Rising 2: Off The Record
Assassins Creed Revelations
Dance Central
Homefront
Dead Space 2
The Lord Of The Rings: War In The North
Deus Ex
Blazblue: Continuum Shift
Cars 2

Also Prototype 2 releases today + you get a free 12 pack of Mountain Dew with it's purchase.

And Darkness II would be $20 after a coupon if anyones looking for that.

Maybe, the OP needs to add a list of games currently priced $29.99 this week.

Thanks so much to the OP and all the CAGs, who have posted helpful information about this promotion.

Don't buy Darkness II at Target. It's $20 at Best Buy, I think starting tomorrow.

Are you referring to the tweet? I believe it was a typo.

is it a Deal of the Day item? Otherwise why would it drop in price mid week?

I'll add it to the OP. The problem is that there simply aren't that many $29.99 games. That list pretty much covers them and any given Target may only have half of those in stock.

I was finally able to convince the guy at my local Target to use the "promo" code and I got rid of 3 PS2 and 1 DS game. This was the third different employee I've seen there in 3 days. He was pretty laid back about the whole thing and read the Promo details (which are in a tab on their browser page) and then went with it. He didn't even try to look them up and just ran them all as "Promo". He also let me enter my own ID info and said to put anything for the DL ID number. After I left I realized I could have used another name had I wanted - oh well . I'm sure he would have let me do more but the others I had brought were "legit" games (ie, in the system) that I only wanted to trade if they didn't take the generic ones. So now I can find more I want to get rid of and keep saving those in case whoever I get tomorrow won't do the "Promo" thing.

I wound up trading two useless games (TC:Rainbow Six Vegas & Unreal Tournament III) earlier today. The whole transaction went very smooth. Guy stated that I was limited to one trade in, but if I had someone with me that had another ID that we could run a second transaction.

I wound up picking up Fortune Street for the Wii of all things as I have been waiting to get this game on the cheap since December to no avail. I might have to go in a couple of more times to grab Uncharted: GA for the Vita & Fallout: NV Ultimate before Saturday!

OK, didn't check there because of the prices not necessarily being the same but, yeah, that's far too much for that game. I'd get it for $10 (after coupon) but not $28.

I'll figure something out .

Can someone please explain how they'd get Target to price-match TRU's Metal Gear Solid HD price (with promo)? Just print screen the checkout price and hope for the best? If this works, you'd also be able to get The Witcher 2 disgustingly cheap.
