Beyond will be out on October 8. They've announced the GameStop LE and released two videos with Willem Dafoe:

Quote:
Additionally, everyone who pre-orders BEYOND at GameStop (or EB games for our Canadian friends) will receive an exclusive 30-minute playable additional scene DLC. We’ll be announcing more details on what that scene entails in the coming months.

And while supplies last, everyone who pre-orders *at GameStop will also receive a free upgrade to the Special Edition of BEYOND, which includes:
  • Exclusive Steelbook Premium Packaging
  • Extensive Behind The Scenes Video Features
  • Soundtrack
  • PS3 Dynamic Theme
  • PSN Avatar Bundle

*Steelbook art not final

Willem Dafoe in Beyond is awesome. I could see a lot more David Cage style games being made if they have big time actors/actresses in them.

God dammit. Just when I was thinking of canceling this one, they have to add Dafoe. In4one. . .

Heavy Rain is my favorite game of this generation. I have really high hopes for Beyond.

I'm not a big fan of cutting up scenes for DLC... uhgg. The taxidermist DLC was fun for about 10minutes of gameplay. But it would of been 100x better if that scene was actually put INTO the game as you played it normally.

All I can think of is the BEYOND podcast from IGN. Either way, really looking forward to it. LOVED Heavy Rain, and Ellen Page is awesome! Can't wait till October

I'm pretty sure that was just a prototype that was shown at E3 in like 2007, so putting it in the game might have felt odd. I haven't played it though, so maybe I'm completely wrong

Hopefully the DLC is completely new and not stuff cut from the game... but even then, that's a pretty nice upgrade for MSRP.

Can't wait for this, so much replayability with the story choices and now some great acting. I actually hope that steelbook artwork is final, I'd buy that.

Wow, is this the first time a video game box has advertised the actors in it, like a movie poster?

That box art is badass. I preordered today from GS when I picked up Heavy Rain new for $10 off their current promo.

So Heavy Rain apparently cost $22 mil to make, another $30 mil to advertise (total of $52 mil) and racked in $130+ mil in sales.

I was surprised that HR actually did well (it just never seemed like a game that would find mainstream success). I wonder if Two Souls will be a commercial success as well?

I think so, considering the hollywood talent involved. HR came along at the right time for those that wanted to show off their PS3s and had enough word of mouth and advertising that gamers were intrigued to see what it had to offer.

Two Souls will be an easy sell for those that really enjoyed HR and it will bring in some new interest from those looking to see a further melting pot between gaming and movies.

Initially I wasn't all that impressed or hyped for Beyond: Two Souls. And then I started playing Heavy Rain a few days ago and now I can't wait for the game. That box art is crazy awesome, too.
