i dont see how $350 for a new release console is considered high...when current gen consoles are $299. $350 depending where you get it will also net you rewards points so that's probably $10 off right there or more. It'll sell well, just because it's new and shiney and not $600. I see kids w/iphones and ipads all the time now this isn't any different except the probability of you getting jumped for your Wii U is much lower.

Zombie U sounds like Day - Z Arma mod, which sounds good...just different.

I'm excited about Wii U, but until more titles are released and available, it'll just watch videos of their line up until a price drop if I even get one.

ZombiU's gameplay concept of dying, probably a lot, and finding your old zombified character to get is very intriguing and reminds me of Demon Souls/ Dark Souls. I just hope the gameplay is up to par in the finished version or it could be a real mess. I think Nintendo's price will seem reasonable next holiday next to $500 Xbox 720 and PS4s.

The Wii U looks awful... It actually makes the Wii look really, really good in comparison. I might re-buy a Wii when they drop to $99 new. The Wii U has so much gimmicky BS going on, you can barely keep track of it. Which game uses what insane combination of which controllers, okay so I don't look a my huge & beautiful HDTV for this game I look at the crappy controller screen.. awesome.. oh, I have to flick things from this little screen to the big one like shooting an arrow? Awesome. :\

YES

Back in the 80s hardware and gadgets were still relatively novel, that's why stuff like the Zapper, R.O.B. the Robot and the Powerglove moved units.

But these days people want immersion, we want to get closer to virtual reality. Wii, Move, and especially Kinect are all on the right path. Wii U is a baffling step backwards.

Even if it launches at $300 I'm not sure I'm drinking the kool-aid this time Nintendo. There just isn't enough to compel me right now into buying this. I think I'd rather wait until a couple of price drops and there are a lot of good games for cheap. I guess my backlog doesn't help things. I can't help but think this will be passed by once Sony and MS release there next console.

I think I'd almost rather spend the $600 to get the crazy VR glasses for Doom 3...except I don't have a 3D TV...but that actually sounded pretty cool in comparison to the all the other e3 news.

I think the thing that irritates me the most is you could release a side scrolling Metroidvania game or a new Starfox to get people excitied...yet all they do is whore out Mario again and again and again and again. I think a lot of people would be more excitied to see that level of dedication (largely because most Mario games turn out rather well) to the other characters or to a new IP.

Nintendo had momentum in their favor and could have killed this e3 but they just let it pass on by.

Many people spent more then the $150 MSRP for the kinect sensor at launch and it was compatible with almost nothing. I'd rather spend $300 on a new nintendo console then half that much on an Xbox add-on.

That being said I will get neither.

they should honestly sell it for 199.99 at that price your going to be able to get anyone on the fence to buy right away as well as those who would buy it just for the exclusives. considering how lack luster their e3 was itd be a good way to guarantee sales and get more of these consoles into homes. hell at 200 id buy one.

$350 would be reasonable if there was huge buzz about the console but honestly there's nothing at this point that would make me buy it for anything over $250 and even then it'd be a hard sell right now because their E3 presentation was pretty meh and that's coming from a huge Nintendo mark.

From everything at E3, it seems like they are selling a port machine to all the Wii owners that missed out this generation. I'd sure be interested in knowing how many of these core games are out there that don't already own a ps3 or Xbox 360. I guess to me it just seems like they sold so many consoles to casual gamers and those people aren't going to want mass effect 3, assassins creed 3, saints row 3, darksiders 2, and any other hardcore game. So that leaves (hard)core gamers. How many of us don't already have at least one of the other consoles? Why the hell would someone go and buy this thing, especially for 350? I own all 3 consoles this gen and I'm sure as hell not getting another console roughly equal to two of my current consoles. Once the price is low enough I would get it for the exclusives and because it can replace my regular standard definition Wii but I'm certainly in no hurry to buy a Wii U.

They needed an HD Zelda or something to launch with this. Although Zelda doesn't exactly pull in the biggest numbers anymore.

Triple game disk, Mario galaxy 1 , Mario galaxy 2, Zelda skyward sword. All mastered in HD, all on one disk, disk included with console.

Will they do that? No. Expect Wii U Soorts.

Is it confirmed that the Wii U will play Wii games? I never bought a Wii and have missed out on many thing Mario and Zelda.

I'm not sure if I want this but I will most likely pick it up because I can. Are the games going to be region coded like most everything this generation besides the PS3?

i know that would move the hardcore fans to buying but even then zelda needs a new direction. if they were going to show anything it should have been a new version of something popular from the past. a really great platformer. maybe a new actraiser or if they had the rights to the franchise banjo kazooie. or a full 3d donkey kong platformer. i know it wont happen but id be willing to get a wiiu to play a new flying warriors game if it was good.

While the console has not yet been released, they said it would be backwards compatible with the Wii but not the GameCube. Personally, I would wait until the console price drops. If the sales are bad, prices will be down by the summer 2013.

At launch the xbox was something around 400 and the ps3 was 600 and with lots of inflation since then you all are complaining about it being pretty much 50$ more than the current gen + get a tablet hehe. It's like the same price as the veta. there is no way the 720 or ps4 will be 350 either. i just think there are nintendo haters out there and want an excuse for the next 2 years to not getting it!

but anyways i hope they maybe have a non tablet controller option too. some games probably wont need it.

You're right. They probably won't be. But they're also not going to be just comparable to the 360 and PS3 either.

EXACTLY! This is what almost everyone gets but a few people seem to not understand. This console they are about to dump on the market is going to be overpriced for the technology in it.

What it all boils down to is... do you want to pay 300-350 dollars to play that new Super Mario game?

No and I'll probably skip NSMB Wii U and go for NSMB 2 on DS. I'll be getting this for Pikmin 3, Nintendo World (that theme park thing) and a handful of the third party efforts. Highlight there is project P-100. Lovely.

This is pretty much it. Maybe I'm old now bur 300-500 to play Mario just isn't that appealing.
