The good people of Insomniac Games are preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Ratchet & Clank, which is coming up later this year. An HD remaster of our classic PS2 Ratchet & Clank games is something our fans have requested for a long time, and we’re looking forward to granting their wishes this summer with the Ratchet & Clank Collection. But we’ve also heard a lot of community requests to develop a new Ratchet & Clank game, one that returns to the classic third-person Ratchet & Clank camera. We listened to your requests, and this holiday season Insomniac will release our new Ratchet & Clank game as part of our 10th Anniversary Celebration. I’d like to officially announce that Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be coming soon to a PS3 near you. Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is a fun-sized Ratchet adventure which will be available for download exclusively on the PlayStation Store. We’ve returned to the series’ classic feel, camera, controls and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play. Even better, the addition of online features means you can experience Full Frontal Assault with your friends, so stay tuned! We’re really excited about this game, and we hope even these small tidbits about it get you excited too. We’ve been hard at work on Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault and now we’re giving you a sneak peek at this first piece of art to give you a taste of what we have in store for you when the game launches later this year. In the meantime, we hope you pick up the Ratchet & Clank Collection when it comes out this summer. We’ll have some more news on the Collection’s release date and a special surprise for North American fans coming in the next couple of weeks.

Well, this is the BIG special surprise. THough there is still a make good for the wait for the HD Collection. Details on that soon

Sweet! I have all of em on PS2 but was planning on getting the collection anyway. Bonus game just makes it better.

I own all the Ratchets, but for some reason only played 1, Going Commando, 1/2 of Up Your Arsenal, and Future. I think I'll just do a series playthrough once the collection gets released

Also have to wonder if they'll eventually release the PSP games (like they did with GoW PSP games) as an HD collection, though I heard Secret Agent Clank sucked.

This phrase is highly suspect. I can't help but think of the tiny candy bars that are "fun size" but only mean less content.

Still looking forward to the collection however.

Where does it say that the game will be included with the HD collection?

From the article: "Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is a fun-sized Ratchet adventure which will be available for download exclusively on the PlayStation Store."

I think this will be a separate downloadable game ala quest for booty, don't think it's going to also be included with the collection if it is a PSN exclusive (unless the collection includes a code for the game).

Hopefully the collection will include the code the same way the copy of A4O I bought at Target included a code for Quest for Booty.

Quest for Booty was fun, but was all of an hour long to finish.

Where did you read this? Only word I saw on that (assuming you mean Deadlocked) was that in Japan it was launching as an HD PSN title.

Well, Amazon has it for $29.96 but it says the release date is 10/2 (vs 9/1 on Gamestop)?

That's the HD collection. This is a digital game for PSN.

I heard this game has "tower defense" in it but if it's free with Ratchet HD collection I have no complaints.

Great to hear, love the Ratchet games and enjoyed Booty so Full-Frontal should be just as fun. Added bonus if it comes in HD collection.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault heads back to the classic camera, weapons and third-person Ratchet gameplay that the series is known for, while adding a new tower defense element that will have you building and defending a base against invasions using your ultimate Ratchet & Clank arsenal. This new twist, added to the classic Ratchet gameplay, brings a whole new level of strategy and decision-making to Full Frontal Assault. You’ll want to make sure your Hoverboots are laced up and ready as you race to defeat your enemy while keeping your base secure. Wait, Hoverboots don’t have laces… In Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, our heroes face a new nemesis – one who has a nasty surprise planned for Captain Qwark. You’ll be able to choose between playing as Ratchet, Clank, or Captain Qwark, and confront an alien army across five levels set on three different planets. The game allows you and a friend to play together with either split-screen or online cooperative gameplay. Good to see classic camera is back - I hated the fixed camera in All 4 One.

Yay for classic style Ratchet, but BOO on tower defense. I despise tower defense.

Also, is this not included with R&C Collection anymore? Listings now state the collection comes with a code to download a demo of Sly 4. Boo I say!

There were tower defense pieces in deadlocked and/or up your arsenal if I remember correctly, so it's not a first for this series.

It would've been a good idea to release some gameplay footage of what it's adding to the gameplay.
