I've never played all of Ghost Trick, so I"m going to obviously buy it since it's a really good game. The sale is until 1/11, I thought I saw 1/1 at first so I was angry, but now I can calm down Also this game has multiple language options (thank you Capcom) so I can practice Spanish (so much vocab to learn just from the first 2 chapters!)

Does anyone know how much space Ghost Trick takes up when all of the chapters are bought? Running out of room on my device and just curious...

FWIW, I don't mind the code-sharing at all. I actually quite appreciate it. Even being in a thread not dedicated for that purpose.

I don't mind code sharing, what gets me is people complaining when codes get stealthed by lurkers. It's a near certainty that's what's gonna happen.

Yeah, PM'ing is much better than just posting them in the thread directly.

I'm in this thread a lot (not sure about the other mods). I've thought about it, but I haven't changed anything, because, while it gets a little cluttered at times, it hasn't gotten out of control. io - even though I'm guilty of starting it, the code trading from the EA daily deals got really annoying.

I personally like a separate code drop thread but if they were to remain in this one, perhaps we could have a rule that only code drops are permitted and people not post "PM sent" and thank posters via PM instead of in the thread.

Yes, that was why the issue of making a code drop thread came up. But the EA codes are done with now so there shouldn't be tons more free codes flying around. The thread has already calmed down significantly from then, which is actually why I'm leaning towards leaving it alone. If something like that comes up again and it gets worse, we can always implement a code drop thread for it.

It's not the code drops that derail the thread, it's the other stuff surrounding it that make it cluttered.

Were you here around Christmas? It was a shitstorm. Granted, it seems to come in waves (generally when there's good codes going around), but when it does, its a pain. The EA sale was definitely the worst and it has quieted down, sure, but just wait until the next good Starbucks app is free again.

The idea of telling people to PM you when you have a code seems like a good middle-ground solution, and some people do it, but alot of people still don't, and even when they do it doesn't seem to alleviate the droves of people who clutter the thread with "PM sent" or "I'm on mobile so I can't PM please give me a code"... even the straight-up beggars still stick around.

This has been a long-running issue with more than a few arguments and with all due respect it seems like a weak response that you don't want to do it because it won't be as popular as this thread. The code drops are clearly popular enough to take hold of this thread whenever some nifty free game comes around, and there is literally no harm in trying it.

I've been around here a long time - in general those sorts of things don't work out (that is, a secondary thread for code drops/trades/etc). It has been tried, many times. The threads always die off and people just go back to the original one. It only works on high-volume/short-term things - so it probably would have worked for the EA codes during that week or two when they were super popular. But it won't work for a long-term thread like this. That's why I said if there are any other mega-deals like the EA one that generate lots of codes we can make code drop threads on a case-by-case basis.

But if you want to make a general code drop thread and post the link here go right ahead. There's nothing stopping anyone from doing such a thing.

In the mean time, I've come to a decision: I will delete all "PM sent", "thanks for the code", and other ancillary stuff to the actual posting of a "PM me for a code" type posts. But I will also allow straight drops if people just want to do that. Not everyone wants to hassle with PMs and I don't want to discourage them from sharing them here. In relation to those, the person who takes it should post and say it is claimed so others don't waste their time. But we all know that rarely happens (ie, el lurko gets it). So it is also reasonable for people to post "lurker got it" as that also lets other people know not to bother. Personally, I don't ever bother to try redeeming the codes because by the time I see one, write it down on a piece of paper, and go to the other computer where we have our iTunes stuff set up, and enter the code, it is guaranteed to be claimed .

io - it's free. people will go find it.

I'm actually subscribed to the starbucks code drop thread and it seems to be doing pretty well. I hardly ever get anything because my starbucks are always well stocked for codes so I have no need but it gets a lot of use. Just cause people are too lazy to go find it doesn't mean threads like these should be cluttered with stuff like code drops. (and begging and whining..)

I also subscribe to the code drop thread for xbla codes and those codes are always gone quick so someone must be using them.

I have a feeling that dedicated code drop threads are even more frequented by lurkers who don't contribute to CAG than general discussion threads like this one are. That's another reason why I don't like them - at least in here you have a core group of CAG regulars (with of course some lurkers as always). Personally I have too many threads to monitor (just for my own use let alone moderating) so I will never bother with a code drop thread. But with this thread and the PM implementation of code drops I've actually gotten a few things. I'm sure others feel the same way. But like I said, if you guys want a code drop thread go for it. I'm not going to monitor that and delete code drops from this thread, though. I will do my best to keep this one clean - though our current discussion isn't helping...

Thanks, I have been waiting for this one for a while. It's hard to track drops on in app purchases.

I played through Dungeon Village this summer. I got in the red a few times early on, but eventually hit a stride. It's mostly about making sure your people are well equipped, and having houses for them when they're happy enough. I remember digging the job system, but everyone ended up being basically the same job because I just wanted them to have the best stats. I'd say focus on DEX because it leads to multiple hits. Don't forget to hold 5 events per season, because your town points or whatever max out at 999. Again, I wouldn't worry about satisfaction traits.
