It is games like this that SCREAM for actual buttons. It seems fun but I'll never play it all the way through because controlling it sucks (through no fault of the game). Stuff like this should be playable on the Vita with the same pricing as on iTunes.

Thanks to those who commented on "Dungelot", I miss the sale but I did the blind buy at $2, and I am amazed, this game is great and addicting. I love that you actually keep your gold AND can try to make it to the same floor your previously hero died on, you then would recover HP, improve attack power, and Gold when you retrieve the body.

It never feels like your previous dungeon run was for nothing like other Rouges, because the gold you keep from the dungeon can be used to upgrade your character attributes permently/and or upgrade various skills. Basically instead of starting the dungeon over with standard stats (80 HP, 1 Attack power, and 1% inituative) you can upgrade your Palidin manual and start the dungeon each time with (115 HP, 3 Attack, and 5% inituitive) which gives a huge advantage and allows you to survive further in the dungeon.

The game has these job classes Paladin, Vampire (Unlocked at Dungeon lvl 15), Brewer/Berzerker (Unlocked at Dungeon lvl 25) and Assassin (Unlocked at Dungeon lvl 35). Each class contains 3 unique skills that be upgraded via gold from your dungeon runs, and each class has a manual that also can be upgraded (upgrades your attributes permenitly HP, Attack, Initiative, and Critical chance).

Each Dungeon Floor has tiles which you must click to uncover what is their (Fog of war), can contain enemy, loot/chest, Hearts (Hp Heal), Spells, equipment, Trap, Challenge/arena/request door, and key) The goal is to retrieve a key on a floor to advance to next floor.

This game is a steal at $2, probably one of the most addicting iOS game yet. I havent played and enjoyed a iOS like this since the other Dungeon/bejewled type game similar to puzzle quest, I cant remember the name.

4.5/5

No need to blind buy since there's a "lite" version for free, although I'm not sure what the difference is. But you can at least try it out.

You're restricted to 2 characters, there are ads on the main menu screen, and I think you can only reach level 50.

Dungeon Story? I started playing that around the same time as Dungelot.

I have been playing Dungelot obsessively. It's a really great game. The Lite version can be unlocked via IAP, but note that apparently still get the "Lite" version of the game icon. I'd buy the full version if you want it. Though if you played a lot in the Lite version, you'll probably want to unlock it to save your stats and gold.

I'm not sure if unlocking Lite preserves your progress. But yeah buying Full is definitely a better choice otherwise. Who wants their paid-for game to say Lite on it?

nope not Dungeon Story, the game has you matching swords, shields, potions, and gold like 3 in a row, sorta like Bejeweled. I believe its called Dungeon or something.

Temple Run 2

I know it's usually free but it is the hottest new release.

Cubed rally redline has dropped to free. iTunes link

Dungeon Story has that matching 3 swords or hearts thing, just saying.

Real Racing 2 HD dropped from 6.99 to 1.99. It seems critically acclaimed but the sale history looks like they drop the price every couple of weeks, sometimes to 99 cents. I have NFS Most Wanted still to play so I'll hold off on this one.

For the record, Stone Age is a fantastic board game and easily as exciting as Ascension for me.

Ok I just spent the last 2 hours playing Temple Run 2. At its core it is more of the same but with some new elements. The main new addition to the actual running is the mine carts which are a welcomed twist. That however is function as for visual a step up is quickly noticeable. What I'm trying to say here is that this game looks really great for what it is. I've only played it on my 4th gen iPad so I can't comment on how it looks on iPhone. Another thing I want to add is that in this game unlocking extra characters also unlocks other things as well unlike the first Temple Run.

If you liked Temple Run then you will love Temple Run 2 but if Temple run wasn't/isn't your thing then Temple Run 2 probably won't win you over. All I can say is that I was quite impressed with this sequel.
