Paired with the announcement of the Brutal Legend artbook by Udon coming in Nov/Dec. There's also a sale for the non-signed version for $10 but it's probably cheaper somewhere else.

It's kinda sad how low the price of this game went, I think I saw it for $3 at best buy last year, creative ideas like this should enjoy a longer shelf life like nintendo titles do(Well, not steel diver)... Sadly the damage is done, and if I was getting something schafer signed I'd probably just opt for the more successful psychonauts or poster.

Seems kind of dumb to just buy a signed one without actually meeting the person. A signature is just a signature.

I thought this game was amazing until the RTS parts happen, I just hated them. The rest of the game was just so awesome, if they put out a special edition without the RTS I'd love it ha. Would be cool to have a signed copy though hmm.

Yes the ideas behind the game were great, however the game wasn't much fun to play after about a third of the way through once they introduced the RTS-ish gameplay. If there were less of it (ideally none) then the game would hold a much dearer place in my heart

can he finally get EA to release the patch he says he submitted years ago. If you try to go for the 100% trophy and save anytime after 76%+ it corrupts your save file and is unloadable. ....

I remember buying this game for PS3 at launch as part of THE used-to-be-crazy-now-is-expected Falltime Toys R Us 3-for-2 deal with Uncharted 2 and some other game, I believe. Maybe Arkham Asylum. And I loved this game. I really did. It was great. Jack Black was awesome. The story was amusing. I mean, an action third party game with that story and that progression was great...

Then it became a RTS. A really bad RTS. Poorly designed, poorly thought out, poorly executed, poorly experienced. And I struggled to keep playing not because I couldn't win, I could, but because I just didn't want to play any more.

The next time I saw Brutal Legend (after I sold it for a huge loss that is), I saw it at Target on clearance. For like $10. And I thought, "Yep. Everyone else musta done the same thing." For such a vaunted developer Double Fine really screwed the pooch on that one. It was the one case where Bobby Kotick and I were suddenly on the same page.

And I can't forgive Tim for putting me in that position. For shame, Tim. For shame.

Sure it's a shame that the game went RTS style and didn't stick with being an action game we all thought it was going to be. With that said, I'm not that much a fan of the RTS genre, yet still enjoyed my time with the game. If you can look past that, it is a good game otherwise.

If nothing else, buy it for the soundtrack. That alone is worth the $20 (or any price really).

I concur w/ most on this one. I thought the writing was hilarious. Truly one of the funniest games I played this gen. But... teh gameplayz - I hate RTS games. I don't have enough patience. I wish there was more action (like the demo had!).

Also, I wished Jack Black could en jump. I remember thinking my controller was mapped poorly... only to realize there was no jump button.

already have a signed psychonauts that it would go well with but....i really hated that game. i bought it and was enjoying it until it suddenly shoved RTS down my throat and ruined it for me. what a waste of good writing and art. ill buy the recently announced artbook though....

Happy to hear that they're finally printing that art book. I remember there being a blurb about it in Game Informer back when the game first came out.

I'd take the Nov/Dec timeframe with a grain of salt. Udon is notorious for delays.

This exactly. I got this game for $8 at some point, and playing the sections leading up to the first big RTS battle, I was just loving the game. Great art style, great voiceovers by Jack Black and Jennifer Hale, great music. I thought, this game is so good, there's no way the RTS part can be as dumb as everyone says. And then... it is.

Add me to the RTS sucking group. This game was great....that is until I got to the RTS part. I tried the RTS once, hated it, and never went back to the game.

I'm in the minority on this one. The RTS segments became tedious during the campaign, but I played this game to death with my buddy in multiplayer. Both Teaming up together in 2v2's and taking it to each other.

Loved it.

I don't know why some are surprised by the RTS elements because they showed it in the previews.

Great game though.

If Tim can also include a hand-written note apologizing for the RTS portion, then this is a very nice deal. Big fan of DoubleFine, but as many, many others have stated-the game was quite fun, then RTS (a genre I despise) kicked me in the testicles. It was like going from metal to a Justin Bieber-Nicki Minaj mashup. In summary, it was AIDS in a controller. I still plodded through it for the sake of beating the game, but the last boss battle in particular had me hating the game.

Well, you can have the game personalized by Tim on the product page of either version. I was able to fit in "Sorry for the RTS part lol and buy the next game." It's supposed to be an option to have him dedicate the game to someone, but I'm sure he has a sense of humor about it.
