I should check these sales a little closer. I didn't realize America Nightmare would be on sale too. I just thought the original and it's DLC was on sale. Same with the Left 4 Dead flash sale. I just saw the L4D2 is also $5, but I wouldn't have known if I didn't click on a game I wasn't even interested in getting (L4D1).

Give me a larger discount on Arma2 already, all my friends don't have the patience that I do and already got it. This is making it very hard for me to wait for a daily deal.

Technically this is right, but if you use free ARMA 2, you still need to buy Operation Arrowhead.

If you want higher rez textures a paid copy of ARMA 2/OA (they are bundled as Combined Operations) makes it happen.

I've played Trine 2, Shoot Many Robots, A Valley Without Wind, Sanctum, Dark Messiah Might and Magic (until the frame rate drops on Win 7-64 made the game unplayable), Orcs Must Die, Ys Origin and Vessel. Put the most time into Trine 2 and Shoot Many Robots and played the others around an hour or less each.

Anyway, probably pick up Krater today once I trade in some games to Gamestop for Steam credit. Still waiting until the last day for drops on a handful of other games I am interested in.

steamprices.com says the lowest Morrowind been is $10. I would have scooped it up in a heartbeat at $5.

Edit: Oh, they don't go back to early 2010. Nevermind. Still, that's a long time with no -75% for such an old game.

Hmm.. I'll look into both options. Not sure if my computer can even run it sadly. I'll have my desktop by November, though.

ha, the sad part is if you use multiple DD services you'll start thinking about buying games on one site forgetting you already own it somewhere else (Sadly this has already happened to me). Also, I wish steam would have done daily achievements or something like the coal thing to motivate me to play some of these games.

Oy. Finally updated the OP. I was a bit behind!

And yeah today's deals are quite lackluster. The inclusion of Flash and Community Sales really are ruining the surprise of the Daily Deals...

I swear they mentioned that activities would be coming, but the sale is almost over and there hasn't been another word about it.

EDIT: Yeah, Day 3 said this, "Steam Scouts, we also have some fun activities scheduled - don't forget to earn your badges (and check out your existing ones)."

Whelp, I started out the week thinking I already owned everything that I wanted. At this point, I've purchased 14 games at a total cost of $60.00.

Only three more days... I might make it out of this under a $100.00

Yeah, this sale is a bit meh since nothing for me was really that special. I think a lot of us has gotten used to 75% off as a normal thing so if we see 75%, then that's just a normal sale price, nothing special.

So far, I've bought 0 items from the Steam sale, but I did do all my voting and am only missing 2 of the things in my Summer Sale Badge. Does anyone know what you get for completing it? It may be hard since that means I'd have to actually buy something in the end. Maybe there's some DLC filler.

I think they should have made the community voting item on sale up to 80%. At least that's a price approaching the upper limit. I've seen 90% before as well, but that's really rare. At present, you see something not win the vote, but get 75% anyways on a flash/daily so it's been sorta pointless.

My backlog is big enough to not buy anything but wouldn't mind some old classics that I might play a little when time permits. Hoping the Freedom Force collection goes 75% off.

Well, the problem is, after a while you own most of what you want on Steam. For many of these games, there is a floor where they aren't going to go any lower and if your buy threshold is lower than that, then you won't ever be satisfied.

I've been buying less, mostly because there is less that I really want. Also, indie bundles have cut into how much I buy, since they end up being better deals.

Tried to buying Fallout New Vegas ultimate but steam says I already own it, which I don't by the way, I only have the base game. I'm only interested in the DLC but is cheaper to buy the Ultimate Edition($9.99) than the DLC ($11.44) itself. Steam only gives me the option to buy as gift, I guess that's okay I'll just put it in my steam inventory and then add it to my library from there.

Very true, I suppose my problem has to do more with time since I rarely get time to play. I'm probably not their ideal customer since I have a very small gaming collection, but with so little time, I can pretty much wait for things to keep the 75% discount and still wait for the original item to drop in price from 39.99 to 19.99 (here's looking at you Witcher 2 since I still have to play Witcher 1 first).

Some stuff I wouldn't mind buying like Shogun 2, but a part of me feels like waiting for some ultimate pack and in a year or 2 and just get it then. Sorta nice I suppose to not really be in a rush to buy.

Thanks for this.

I already have the Witcher 1 on GOG, and apparently it lowers the price of the bundle if you already have it.

So it's $13.59 for me on GOG and $15.99 on Steam. Not a huge savings but what's rational is rational.

If my pc meets the minimum for alan wake american nightmare but not the recommended will it really hurt my gameplay experience? The only thing that's not up to par is my cpu. I'd like to get it so cheap through steam cause xbox on sale will probably be 10 bucks.

Working As Intended; Gabe doesn't really care why you buy games or even which games you buy, just as long as you're giving him your sweet, sweet virtual currency.

I would rather spend $2 more and get both a Steam and GOG copy though...

I've played some of the games I got during this sale, mainly QUBE (Which is pretty damn good imo). But I just got into a certain games closed beta last night and will spend the foreseeable future playing that game for a long time to come.
