wuts people thoughts on the bengals bills trade input anyone

also i think its fine if a owner wants to try out deal and ask around the league and take what he thinks is right for him but leading people on is a no go in my book. also once a post has been posted people shouldnt try and steal from it its there to be judged not stolen now if the trade is denied i would say its free game but u cant deny people trades becuz u think u can steal it afterwards i think it would be a good idea to put together a trade committe like the offical league for judging trades

HIM: did you clear cap?
ME: No, not yet. I sent it just to see if it would go through. I guess we can wait til we have the option to do some cuts this week to clear cap. Then ask the board again, but people seemed OK with the trade.
HIM: yeh thats fine as long as the trade gets done before week 1!!!!

Those are our last week's PM's. I had no idea that me not responding to his PM from yesterday would cause him to trade Brady to someone else. But it is what it is. I don't remember ever reading any rules against what he did, so it's a fair play by him. Still a dick move IMO though.

he may have speed but he also could end up fumbling alot with a 75 carry just becuz he has speed doesnt make him an automatic monster at all. hes still an 80 overall which means he isnt perfect

He may be in the last roster update, but that was updated after our franchise was started.

Ah gotcha. I really need to read more proficiently... some reason I thought they were living rosters.

If thats the case, spiller for 2&3 seems legit.

Wow...damn, can't a guy play his week 4 preseason game without shit going crazy? lol. In my opinion, the problem with the Pats/Jets trade is it was proposed way too early. People hadn't even played a single game yet before you guys were trying to get rid of your best players.

I agree with DVO though. Once a trade is posted FOR REVIEW, there can be no "Ooh! I want that guy!" If people can't handle that, then we need to form a trade review committee similar to the one in the other league, but discuss trades exclusively through PM until they're approved (which is really more akin to how the NFL works. Other teams don't hear about trades until they're a done deal...and teams don't always know that they're bidding against each other).

I know we didn't have a problem like this last year, but I'm pretty sure the other league did. And if I remember right, the general ruling was: If the trade wasn't officially posted for review, you can back out if you want. HOWEVER, don't be shocked if it makes you look like a complete asshole and makes other teams not want to deal with you in the future.

If Hemingway wants to burn this bridge and rub a lot of people the wrong way, that's his choice. But don't be surprised if no one takes you seriously or even wants to talk to you after it. That's about as realistic as the situation can be handled. Yes, these things "happen"...but people are also judged for it.

As for the Spiller trade, yeah, I'm having the same problem many of you are...separating Madden Spiller from "current real life" Spiller (the same can be said for Chris Johnson...but thank God we started when we did, lol).

His ratings in this franchise roster are definitely not as good...and considering that, I do think the trade is reasonably fair. If DVO can build Madden Spiller into "current real life" Spiller will be the question. But that's going to take a decent amount of XP. As is, I don't have much of a problem with the trade.

Seconded. Can we confirm trades are indeed happening before posting them to the thread?

On that note, DVO21 and I have agreed to a trade.

Bengals receive:
WR - Malcom Floyd

Cardinals receive:
LT - Andrew Whitworth

I'll update this post with age and contract and whatnot next time I'm on my 360.

I don't have a problem with the Spiller trade either.

And I agree with Nate, sure you could pull out, but it makes you look bad. Wonder if we should just use the trade committee idea anyway though.

Just my two cents. It really won't take a lot of xp. The most expensive stats to raise, are Speed, Accel and Agil. In those stats he's already 95 plus. The rest of the stats are relatively cheap in comparison. He can most likely have his carry, currently 79, in the 90's in his first year. I believe Spiller in madden is worth more than what was offered but once again that's just my opinion.

i honestly like the offical league committe idea but i think we need the right people in it and i also think its needs to be an odd number for a tie breaker and if someone or 2 people are involved in the trade from the committe there vote is taken out and we bring in 1 or 2 people as need to make the votes

You need five in a committee with two alternates. Easy peasy as my kid would say.

This idea is excellent. This way also narrows the waiting down to just five people's view as opposed to the whole league in the thread arguing like happened with the Brevis fiasco.

I'd be fine with a committee, but if we do it that way, I think we should go all the way and not discuss trades at all in the thread (other than posting a trade block...which can be done in the game...but there's no harm listing it here too for accessibility). Keep it to PM's, and only make announcements in here when trades are approved.

Damn...choosing a committee really makes me feel like a politician. Like I know that the best "cabinet" should include people who's views aren't always the same as my own...but man, this is tough, lol. I feel like there are two major factors: veteran status and activity level in the thread (well...in addition to the obvious, knowledge of the game and impartiality).
