Jennings is better than Bush and since both are free agents after the season the cap room this year is kind of irrelevant. That leaves Stars and House for the picks, which on the surface seems ridiculous but the picks also help make up for the difference in the present in overalls that GB is giving up. Personally I think a first and a second is a bit much, but it's fair.
Yeah, the only reason i'm comfortable giving up the 1st and 2nd is because right now i like maybe one of my receivers, so adding a top receiving option was important for me to do before the season.

Rob Ninkovich- DE-age28- 72 regular ovr, in 3-4 schemes his rating is low 80's. 2 years remaining- Total- 2 Million, 2012-1.87, 2013-2.13

Patriots Receive:
Joe Haden- CB-age 23- 91 ovr in my scheme, has great man to man which is what i look for. 3 years remaining- Total-27.65, 2012-7.67, 2013-9.07, 2014-10.91
Brandon Weeden- QB-age 28- 75 ovr in my scheme- 4 years remaining, Total-8 millions, 2012-1.65, 2013-1.84, 2014-2.09, 2015-2.42

The Patriots cap before the trade is 17.74 million and the Browns are 20.92 so we both have a lot of cap to make this trade work. He gets the franchise qb he wants, i get the man to man corner i like.
Still not crazy about trading Brady personally, and think what the Pats did regarding their trade with the Jets is bush league, but the difference in payroll makes sense.

I don't really have an opinion on the second trade, but I think Arizona is getting off light on the first trade. That's a huge difference overall. And there's no real way of knowing whether Floyd will make a big jump in year 2. I kind of want to ponder it some more.

So far most of the trades, seem close enough to be fair to both parties. but I would agree that the Whitworth - Floyd trade is more lopsided. If Whitworth was in his mid thirties then you could make a case but, at just 30 then I think more needs to be involved going back.

I get that you like the trade, but to me this falls under the "protecting teams for future owners" thinking. It's the same reason I was against the first Brady trade.

Even if you feel good about a trade you are making, you are still giving up more than you are getting back. I understand that you are one of the players that has been in this league the longest, and are less of a threat to drop out of the league. However, if it were to happen you are giving up a 90 overall player for a player in the 70's.

The last factor shouldn't even come into play, because it shouldn't diminish your return. I understand your reasoning, but you also made another trade for a wide receiver, so you're trading for depth and giving up too much.

I also believe that the cap difference is pretty slight, especially towards the end when cap goes up.

All right, I sent out PMs to 4 people for the trade committee. Two have already gotten back to me. Once I hear from the other two, I'll introduce the full committee. We also need two alternates. I was going to just choose alternates, but I felt really dumb sending out a message of "Hey...you weren't chosen for the main committee, but we still might need your help sometimes."

So, anyway...if anyone wouldn't mind serving as an alternate committee member, when one (or two) of the other members are involved in a trade, that would be great. It's not going to be a "first two to post get it" kind of thing. Just let me know if you're interested, and I'll pick the two people who I feel would be good for it.

In other news, actually processing trades in Madden seems to be very weird. The other league had issues with getting them to go through. At first it was thought that they would only process when the schedule was advanced. This turned out to not be true.

The only way they've gotten trades to go through was by having both parties online when the trade is offered/accepted. This might be a bit inconvenient, but at least it won't be a reason for trades to be delayed a week...or hold up our advancement. I'll advance us to Week 1 in the morning, and we'll get these trades figured out asap.

I don't like how trades in this league come under a microscope like they have been. If an owner thinks he's making the best move for his team, or getting players he likes, the trade should be allowed through. Just because someone else(whether on the committee or not) wouldn't do the same trade, doesn't mean it shouldn't go through.

If it's outright robbery then I understand the need to veto it and turn it down. But if it's a fairly close deal then I don't see what the problem is. Owners shouldn't be nickel and dimed with every trade that gets posted.

It's funny because a post very similar to this one came up in the other league like a week ago. How many leagues have you participated in that have had any longevity? We had two leagues on this site alone last year that went for a combined 8 seasons. Both use similar rules and policies that may seem strict, but exist solely for the protection of the league. If numerous people across two successful leagues think these policies are a good idea...doesn't that tell you anything?

None of us get our jollies from rejecting or overanalyzing trades. And it is 100% NOT about whether we "would do the same trade". To borrow from the exact response given in the other league, we're most likely never going to just disallow a trade, but rather give a suggestion on how to make it more balanced.

Even if we don't understand the trade, the number one thing is just making sure it's fair. Honestly, I think that has already been proven by the fact that people are ok with the idea of trading Tom Brady in the first place. That's a move that the real Pats would NEVER do in a million years. But because this is Madden, and because different people play different ways, people are ok with it.

Most of the opinions I've seen so far about you acquiring Brady have been pretty positive. The only reason that trade has received ANY scrutiny was because several people feel that Hemingway did dr0ppinl0adz dirty by backing out of a trade they've had in place for over a week now. But as Hemingway was told...that's his choice.

At the end of the day, the trade review is there to insure that no team is left broken and unplayable. As I've already said in here, none of you signed contracts to play here. At any moment, somebody could decide they're "burnt out" (you will hear this expression...trust me) and abandon their team. But we need to make sure that "burnt out" isn't code for "I ed up my team and the game isn't fun anymore". But don't worry...after we square away the committee, you won't have to read all this nonsense about trades anymore because it will all be done behind closed doors...as it should be.

My post had no relation to my Brady trade.

It was more of a general statement. I feel like ever since the first trade was mentioned, a lot of people have been over analyzing them a little too much. The original Jets-Pats trade was pretty fair, sure one team may have been winning a little more, but it wasn't unfair or a robbery. But it still faced a lot of criticism and questioning. I just feel like all that is unnecessary. This isn't the real NFL. This is a game we all play to have fun. Stuff like that sucks the fun out of a league like this. It completely discourages trading, which I think is the worst possible thing that can happen to a league like this.
