Denver Broncos 49 - Buffalo Bills 31

In a game that nobody is going to put on their defensive highlight reels, the Broncos defended their home turf and got a big conference win against the visiting Bills. The Broncos were able to weather some careless mistakes and for the most part ride their offense to victory (which is a nice change). The big momentum saver was after the Bills scored on a long run to open the 3rd to cut it to 21-14, rookie returner Tim Trinca-Pasat took the ensuing kickoff to the house. The Broncos never looked back.

Brock Osweiler had an up and down (mostly down) day, going 5 of 11 for 190 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs. I do beleive at least 4 of those completions came on 3rd down though.

Fitzpatrick was 11 of 22 for 168 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs.

McFadden had 19 carries for 80 yards and 3 TDs, while McGahee submitted another strong game, carrying it 8 times for 72 yards and a TD.

Spiller carried 18 times for 162 yards and 1TD. Half of that came on his one 80 yarder.

Vincent Jackson did most of the work for the Broncos, hauling in 3 for 145 and a TD. Julius Thomas also had an 11-yard TD on a beautifully executed TE screen. Demaryius Thomas went without a target for the 2nd week in a row.

Devery Henderson had 3 catches for 96 yards and 2 TDs. Jeremy Schockey had 3 for 23 and a score.

The Broncos got picks from Jason McCourty (his 3rd in 2 games for the Broncos) and Chris Harris. Joe Haden also had a couple nice breakups.

The Bills got 2 picks from George Wilson, and one from Jairus Byrd.

gg Ramesu!

Didn't expect this one to be so high scoring, but it was nice to see my offense finally come alive a bit.

Broncos move to 4-2-1, and more importantly move into possession of the 2nd wildcard spot and gain what could be a crucial tie-breaker over the Bills.

Oh, and this is obvious now that I've played my game, but Champ is officially remaining a Bronco. Probably for the best, since my playoff prospects are looking much better than they were when I put him on the block.

I think we put the trade deadline a week early. I'm doing a test franchise and I can still put trades through at the beginning of week 9. Week 10 trades become locked and they are locked for anyone who has played there game during week 9.

That's definitely not what it was in season one. In any case, this was always the trade deadline we planned on so we're going to stick with it.

I've certainly been working him in a bit more the last few weeks. So far the Decker for McCourty deal has been quite nice for me too.

Remaining Games:

Panthers-Lions (sounds like tonight)
Saints-Packers
Ravens-Seahawks
Rams-49ers
Steelers-Browns

Any updates on these games? I certainly wouldn't mind if we could advance tonight.

That's your post from when you first discovered it when it was too late in week 9 and people had already started playing their week 9 games. It was the same way last season, i'm just pointing it out so maybe we can nail down a specific, correct, time for the trade deadline in future seasons. I thought i had remembered it was week 9 that we were in last year, i should have brought it up sooner.
