To qualify for the double system credit does the console have to have a controller? My ps3 controller finally quit working and I was thinking about trading in my slim.

Yep. It can be a six axis one if you want a cheaper option. Not sure they will take any 3rd party stuff.

I just purchased a small PSN game digital download code from gamestop.com. I was using a giftcard to purchase this, but as I did not have enough on the gift card for the sales tax, I decided to use an address in the billing information from a state that does not charge sales tax. I paid as "guest", used a very alternate e-mail address, random physical address and phone number, and did not apply my PUR card towards the purchase. Could this possibly be considered fraud and, more importantly, could they track me down at all? We're really only talking about 80 cents (which by my calculations doesn't reflect the accurate amount of tax that would normally be charged anyway) not going to my home state.

Maybe people usually do this sort of thing all the time, but I'm starting to feel a little shaken.
Yes and yes but no one's going to bother. I wouldn't do it again though.

Took advantage of the Best Buy B2G1 sale. Traded in the following games to move credit to GameStop.

Xbox 360:
Borderlands: 12.00 (x2)
Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution: 13.00
Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary: 15.00
Sniper Elite 2: 20.00
Halo Reach: 17.00
Saints Row Double Pack (2CD): 13.00

PS3:
Alice: Madness Returns: 13.00
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: 18.00
Borderlands GOTY: 15.00
Portal 2: 13.00
WWE 12: 13.00

3DS:
New Super Mario Bros. 2: 18.00

DS:
New Super Mario Bros.: 13.00

After all bonuses, I ended up with 313.50. Still got one more game to trade in but Best Buy gave me Forza 3 instead of the newest one so going back later to get the right game. So I think I did pretty damn good.
Damn, was all this in-store at your local BBY? Puts the stores by me to shame.

Anyone know the TIV for the 3gb Xbox slim w/ wireless controller?

Hopefully I can get $200 towards it...and go for the Holiday bundle. Forza 4 + Skyrim makes it worth it.

Does anyone know where GameStop stands when it comes to trading in multiple copies of a game?

As with most things Gamestop, not every store follows the policy, but generally speaking you can only trade in one copy of a game (per console) per transaction. I'm not sure of the exact time frame that they look at, but the associate can also look up your past transactions and if they are very strict they may refuse a trade in if you traded in the same game recently.

wow found out you can not use the guaranteed PowerUp Rewards store credit https://www.poweruprewards.com/PUR/Index/TradeValues with the 30% powerup trade in for select games bonus its one or the other

I am confused. The PowerUps bonus for those games are all better than 30%. If you had games not on the list you could just do a separate transaction I would assume. If not then I would have not traded them at that moment and just gone to another GS or come back later.

Any good possibilities for GS credit when combining any trade in deals with BB buy 2/get 1 deal?

I think he's talking about the B2G1 on new games, not the B2G1 for used games which ended last night.

Beware Skyrim is a download code (it does affect others, probably not you) and Forza 4 is the "Essentials Collection" where they stripped out 1/2 of the cars from the full game to sell to you as DLC.

Depends on the state and sometimes the system. MO is not supposed to be taxed on digital purchases, but anything I buy in-store digital on XBox is taxed, PSN is not. No one knows why. The physical MS point cards aren't taxed though.

The essentials does include 320 cars so it is still pretty robust.

Well I noticed it says "Not for Resale" on the box as well which partially kills it for me...I've never heard of that Essentials collection at all, but it does seem like that is enough cars. I'm fine with Skyrim being a digital download, I can trade my original copy in. It's very cheap that they couldn't give you retail versions of both games, but I'd still go through with it.

I just need the 3g slim w/ controller to be $200 TIV at least...otherwise it's not worth it.
