If you can ignore having to use an ENB mod to fix the lighting, and the game not supporting 16:10 without using a modded .exe, it's a great port and has very smooth performance. It's pathetic that it doesn't have HDR/bloom by default though, the game is FAR too dark and bland without using the ENB mod.

It plays just fine. Imo use a controller (like any driving game). Only major gameplay complaint is in the challenge series (this is a bit of an aside to the storymode) the early bits with the slower cars just seem too slow -- no sense of going 60 MPH on a SF city street (not helped by how they made SF streets extra extra wide (very unlike RL)).

Thought it was worth mentioning that with Driver SF, you apparently use a separate Driver SF Download manager instead of the Uplay client. I couldn't get it to load in the Uplay client. Not sure if it'll show up there once installed or not.

Just bought Driver, but it isn't showing up on my Uplay account.

Reading the post up above, it seems that there is a separate download for the game. Where do i go to download it?

Driver loaded in UPlay just fine for me. Sometimes you just have to wait 5 minutes or so.

I bought it like 40 minutes ago.

I want to start the download before I leave, so by the time i get back it will be ready.

It never did show up for me. I waited a couple of hours to see if it'd show up before I downloaded it. Then, after I installed it I figured it'd show up. No good. As long as the game plays, I don't really care.

I went to the order confirmation email and clicked the download link there.

By that logic you could say the old 10 cent Games For Windows Live deals were much, much better deals than UPlay has ever had.

Obviously, no one is making money off of these 10 cent or 1 dollar deals that GFWL, UPlay, Onlive etc have done. They aren't normal deals, they are loss leaders designed to get people in the door to try out the service and hopefully stick around.

Steam doesn't really need to go out of their way to attract new users as they are an already established service. That said, the 75% off deals they regularly do are still quite excellent values under normal circumstances. I like getting $1 games as much as the next CAG but I don't realistically think we can expect to get every game for $1.

Or better yet, wheel controller.

Hmm, the only email i have is a receipt from Paypal, even when I purchased HAWX 2 i didn't get an email from Ubi, just Paypal.

Also I looked up my order number on Ubisoft's site and it doesn't give me a download link just telling me to wait "5 minutes" for it to appear on my Uplay client.

As of right now it still is not my Uplay list only HAWX 2 is on there, I have no idea where else to download this game i bought an hour ago.

Edit - Looking around it seems Ubi is getting hammered and some people have been reporting some issues. I'll check back in later.

QFT. Upay has been a catastrophe, unless you like root kits...

Same here. Not a great first use of uplay for me.

FWIW I'm still waiting on my Driver San Francisco I bought ~ an hour ago as well.

I guess keep checking back to the Digital River order page every so often

https://www.findmyorder.com/sstore?A...r&Locale=en_US

Use your order # (should be in the Paypal confirmation email if you payed w/ Paypal) and your UPlay password to login.

Mine still says:

"Processing serial number or unlock code."

So I guess they are still working on it. I sure hope I get it because of all the $1 games this is the one I wanted the most.

I seems like they didn't anticipate how much demand they would get. Selling games for a dollar and lots of people want them? Who knew?

Yeah, I hit my first minor issue with Uplay on Driver: San Fran. Ordered, bought, and got my confirmation AND the game is in my uplay account, BUT when I go to find my order to retrieve my key it tells me my order number is not found. So, seems like a minor problem compared to most, but I still shot an email to their CS to see if they can send me my key. I'm assuming this must have been the most popular deal of the week so they got hammered and there might be some disconnect somewhere.

Okay now I got an email with my order # it says it's a receipt bla bla. No download link. Game does not show up in the UPlay client and now when I go to the Digital River "find my order" page it says "order not found" and it was just working before I got the confirmation email.

Who are we supposed to contact about this? Digital River or Ubisoft?

They would've been smarter, imo, to offer all four games for $1 for 4 days (or a week) instead of this one-a-day crap. Driver SF was obviously the driving game here, but many would've been willing to take a chance on one/all of the other three games if they could. But oh no! Deals already passed.

If they're really wanting to drive business to the site, have a $1 deal every week for a while, featuring 1-2 Ubisoft titles each week. Maybe a monthly crazy deal (Assassin's Creed Rev compete only $5 for 1 hour on the last Sat of the month, something like that).

Then again, they need to work the bugs out of this first.

I downloaded the Uplay client, and signed in. My copy of Driver was ready for install. It sucks that people are having issues though.

My Driver: San Francisco hasn't shown up either (just got my PayPal receipt, nothing else). But my copy of From Dust came up right away and I know they're getting clobbered today so I'm willing it wait it out. I wasn't going to play D:SF today anyway so I can afford to be zen about the situation for a few days.
