My vita version (first run) says 29th and 3ds version (second run) doesn't have the release date.

Guess I better keep my eye on that then, no point of paying for 1 day shipping if I wont actually receive it on release week lol.

Does anyone know how these will be packaged? Is it just a standard copy of the game with the watch packaged seperately? Or is the watch part of the actual packaging?

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=491464

Says it's included in the product packaging.

It looks like they will put just the cartridge in the container with the watch. My vita order shows October 26 as the delivery date.

The aksys rep (I think it was) on neogaf said that they're shipping out to retailers on the 23rd. So only way to actually get it release day is digitally. That's what I remember reading anyway so I may be wrong. If so though...who the does something like that?? So dumb.

Really dumb if that is the case.

Most niche JRPG publishers. I know NIS, Xseed and Aksys all have done this type of ship date not street date thing before. I don't know why anyone is upset by this. If you want a physical copy, you just have to wait an extra 1-2 days. You could think about it as releasing the digital version a day early if that makes you happier.

Unlikely. Neither the Vita nor 3ds case will fit within that watch tube they are showing on some sites. Who knows, they could do what they have done before and just pack the watch and the game in a padded pouch that's sealed and then ship that out. They could also just shrink the watch directly to the game case and not send us the tube at all. It's entirely possible that tube/case was for press/promo use only.

They better give us that tube case, those things looked awesome.

Well it wasnt who I thought it was that said it and I have no idea who this guy is (Belasarius on Neogaf) but here is a quote from him on Neogaf on the games shipment:

Quote:
Yeah, because it has to physically get from one place to another. Games from other companies with release date delivery have already been shipped to retailers prior to their release date, so Amazon or whoever has them on had to ship out immediately. We don't do that: We ship out to retailers on our ship date—the "release" date of the 23rd—so Amazon doesn't have them on hand to ship out immediately. Because of the way game releases are looked at, the 23rd is considered to be our release date for purposes of things like the PSN release, announcements, etc, but nobody will actually be getting it on that date.

It is a little confusing, I understand.
The short version is:
-Physical copy, you won't be able to get it on the 23rd.
-Digital copy, you'll be able to get it on the 23rd.

I'm personally not upset about it. I do think it's absolutely dumb though. It's just senseless imo to announce a release date of Day X when it wont actually be available until Day Y.

Well I hope they arrive by the 26th for one day shipping then......otherwise pretty much kills every reason I had for paying extra for it <_<

Dont really care if it gets delayed, as I'll just downgrade the shipping speed, but I'll be pissed if I dont get the watch.
I grabbed mine in the first run..

Hm...

It looks like if you dont have the watch preorder bonus specifically stated on your order then you very well may not be getting it.

Looks like I avoided this email, so maybe it only affects those who pre-ordered before the bonus was announced or when they had that short re-stock a few days later? Reading some of the emails gives me a bit of hope that Amazon will do what they normally do with CE's and float a few copies out around release date. If I could finally get a 2nd 3DS watch copy for my brother, I can cancel the Vita one I still have and maybe it'll go to someone who actually wants it.

Regarding Belisarius on NeoGaf, I'm pretty sure he's an Aksys employee, though whether he's an official rep or not I can't say. The ship date/release date issue does seem to happen more often with the niche JRPG publishers though, as I recall Xseed did the same thing with The Last Story.

Not all do that though, NIS usually gets stuff out ahead of time (Except for once or twice when they had some shipping delay due to external issues).

Hoping the same thing doesnt happen to Ragnarok Odyssey on the 30th either. Still, its just a REALLY dumb way to handle shipping, why call it a release date when only Digital purchasers get it day one.
