So, for those who don't know, Desert Bus is a mini-game from an aborted Pen and Teller Sega CD game poking fun at super "realistic" games. It has you drive a bus from Tuscon to Las Vegas to earn 1 point per trip. However- the road in real life is straight through the desert, so you're on a straight path through a plain brown background. The game is also played in real time, taking 8 hours to earn your 1 point.
The fine folks at
Loading Ready Run have made an annual tradition of playing this game, nonstop, as long as they keep getting donations for
Child's Play. They also do on-the-spot user submitted challenges and auction off/giveaway some crazy good gamer swag.
Everyone should take some time to check this out, it's a lot of fun for a great cause. The bus sets out at 9pm tomorrow, so don't miss it!
