Just piling on that the PM stacks with the GC promo. Picked up my preorder copy of Far Cry 3 (PM Frys $50) and Hitman (PM Target $40) with the $40 GC and the preorder Far Cry DLC.

The only issue is that the GC promo shows up on the receipt as a package deal with $20 assigned to each game so any further PMs, etc. may be difficult...

I'd say you came out pretty well. Anymore PMs and I'll get so jealous.

Was moreso thinking of the people who didn't PM at the time of purchase. They might have difficulty PM'ing after the fact because of the $20 package deal notation, but yeah, after the PMs/$40GC/$20 preorder RZ bonus, can't complain personally...

Did anyone get the $40 gc after purchasing and PM'ing 2 of the same games on the same receipt? (Re: BBY)

Then he selected the 3DS on the computer and adjusted the price. The machine or system didn't flinch and no supervisor override was needed. I don't see how they can say the system will not allow it?

Maybe ask them to try again in that order? Though I don't imagine they like being told by customers how to ring up the merchandise

EDIT: oh, I see you are an employee. That is bs on their part.
Yeah... it's looking more like they just outright lied to me. I was trying to get it on my 15 minute break, so I didn't have time to haggle or ask specifics. Oh well, I still bought one at Best Buy so I'm still a happy camper, but I'd rather have that Redcard discount and the gift card to boot.

Has anyone tried matching with TRU yet? I have one of the Groupon coupons for $20 off a purchase and I was thinking of trying to match GameStop's ad for LBPV or PS All-Stars, it says they're $19.99 in the ad, but it also says 50% off above them and TRU's policy says they won't match percent off deals, so I'm not sure that I could get them to do it...

Struck out on getting the price match and bb offer on two 3ds games. Cashier went and asked the manager about the extra $20 discount...

I've never done a PM before so could someone explain the process of doing the price match and gc offer at Best Buy...Do you purchase the games then run off to customer service to PM or do you hold up the line and do it with the cashier before they scan the 2 games?

Just take a competitor's print ad and the item you want to price match (before purchase) to the counter in the electronics section (or customer service depending on the store) and ask for the price match.

As far as the GC goes, it seems that it depends on when the GC is added to the transaction - anyone correct me if I'm wrong. For example, a price match could be done after everything is rung up at which point it just depends on whether the system allows for the adjustment. If an item is adjusted before adding the bonus items (unless the act of ringing up the item automatically triggers the bonus item to be added to the purchase), the system may not recognize the adjusted item as applicable to the promotion. You start getting into how the systems are programmed which becomes speculation like everything in this paragraph.

Or, depending on the store, for price matching after you make a purchase, just take the competitor's ad with your receipt to customer service and you get a refund if the store allows for that. Read up on the policy first though in case you need to argue with or school a cashier on the store's policy.

All this said, I've seen overrides by managers work wonders if the manager is willing and able.

Not a BB deal, but I went to Toys R Us today to have them price match their online price of $19.99 for Epic Mickey Power of Illusion for 3DS. They did without any issue, plus I got the $10 gift card that comes with the game this week automatically. So...

Epic Mickey Power of Illusion and a $10 gift card for $19.99 after price match. Good deal.

The manager at my local BB didn't let me PM+get the $40 GC. He met me halfway and gave me RE6 and Hitman for $50 each with a $40 GC. Comes out to $30, I didn't want to drive to another BB to try, and it'll be a quick rental for me.

Get NSMB2 and MK7 then. Both have multiplayer support. NSMB2 is local only, though.

Ordered Far Cry 3 and Hitman Absolution online with in store pickup. $40 gift card shipped in about an hour, picked up the games, then called 888-best-buy for a price adjust. They issued a $10 refund for fry's far cry price and a $20 refund for gamestop's hitman price. Not a bad deal at all.

If I were to return RE6+Hitman, they'd take back the GC and give me another GC worth whatever I paid, right?
