Initial Details About Suda 51’s Killer Is Dead Emerge

We finally get a peek at the spiritual successor to Killer7 and No More Heroes.

January 16, 2013

Grasshopper Manufacture’s Killer Is Dead has been in development for quite some time now, but we haven’t seen too much about it since it was announced in April 2012. But now, thanks to a feature in Famitsu by Goichi "Suda51" Suda (and translated by Polygon), we’re getting our first taste of what is to come.
Like Killer7 and No More Heroes before it, Killer Is Dead will feature a cel-shaded look combined with huge amounts of gore and violence to create that quirky, yet brutal look that Suda51 has become so well-known for.
Killer Is Dead will star robotically-enhanced Mondo Zappa as he brawls his way through a cybernetics-infested world. Under the tutelage of the Brian Execution Firm, he’ll be hunting down assassins while armed with a sword in one hand and an upgradable gun attached to the other. Expect drills, powerful projectiles, and other stuff to make appearances at the end up his limb.
As always, we can expect that special charm that makes Suda51, well, Suda51. "We're trying to make a game that we'd only be able to make right now, at this point in time,” he told Famitsu.
Killer Is Dead is set to come out in Japan this summer.

-Very excited, huge fan of NMH & Shadows of The Damned (Lollipop Chainsaw not so much but they can't all be winners)

I should really finish Killer 7.

I love the game's graphical style.

I Read the title as someone had murdered Suda 51, but thankfully his killer is dead.

That's okay. Their last game was pretty bad.

I read it that they had a game, 'Killer', in production that was cancelled.

I haven't seen anything for this yet, and I don't have to. All I have to see is "Suda 51" and I'm all-in. NMH, SotD, Lollipop, yeah, I'm all set to buy this day-1. Love this guy's games.
