I ordered mine on the 16th, and it still hasn't shipped, so I contacted them this morning to see WTF is going on?

The WE book is a compendium (I dont actually know what that word means I just saw it used earlier when someone was describing it). Also, I think this book is basically in-game digitally, so you definitely don't need it but it sure would be nice to have anyway.

The strategy guide is like a normal strategy guide walkthrough/items all that stuff. It's supposed to be spoiler free.

It was In Stock? Not just orderable and available in X weeks? My order of it is still "We'll send you an email when a shipping date is available"

That was my understanding too; that the Wizard Edition book is basically a physical copy of the book that the main character runs around with in-game. An awesome collectible IMO.

I never heard that the book is actually viewable page for page in the game but maybe someone else can say for sure.

Shows as in-stock on January 30th for me, I already have an order in from earlier though that is still waiting to ship. 1/30 is still earlier than their original estimate they gave me.

My got damaged during shipment. They shipped it in one of those wrap-arounds that was too big and the corners/edge got dinged up.:-/

Damn people must of bought the guide in large quantities earlier this morning. You could add 999+ to your cart and it allowed you to actually check out with 80 at a time (that was the cap).

I figured I'd wait until I saw the quantity available drop to less then 999 but I fell asleep and woke up 4 hours later and now it is gone.

Many guides do quite well with that. Many also don't. I'd guess this one would but of course they could always just make more. I'm going to take a wild guess and say the game sales are exceeding any expectations and so a lot of people will be wanting this.

My order from 1/23 still shows an estimate of 2/8-2/13.

They finally shipped mine yesterday. Hopefully you'll still get the $21.99 price for yours that it dropped to for that one day period before they pulled it off (only to put it back on for $23.52 or whatever it is heh)

And no more than what, 20 minutes since I made this post? Doorbell rings and it's the mail carrier with my package. I didn't expect it this fast. I am pleased. The collection is now complete!

it is still premature to tell if the guide will be rare. one thing for certain is at the price amazon is selling the guide is selling like hotcakes. Other retailers are still selling it for $39.99

I'm still waiting on mine that I ordered a while back, stuck on shipping soon. Can't wait to get it I love harcover rpg guides.

Primas printing more of these guides for sure. With all the buzz about the game, great reviews, the WE fiasco and all the publicity it is getting right now. Prima will not want to lose out on the money chain...

the question is whether it will be at this price again, amazon changes their price regularly

Maybe not 21.99 right now but i highly doubt amazon will ever price this at retail. Resellers are only ones that will jack their prices up.
