That's what I felt the MOVE, while...interesting in concept, was a retail failure because it was an additional purchase. Assuming the MOVE-like glow on the controller is for MOVE, I believe we can expect the Eyetoy 2.0 to be bundled, which is another bonus. I just hope it's HD (720p min) so that it can actually track properly (and do proper video chat).
The things that bother me are the analog sticks (more look than potential feel), the controller looks like it may be a tad thicker, and if thats a touchpad then it looks too tiny to really do any good (but im not creative to see its potential possibly).

Really small things, but enough to bug me.

Obviously just a prototype, I expect the final design to be more sleeker/stylish.

I'm interested in knowing what the price point for the new controller will be. No way it's near $50. Also curious to know if this controller will be an optional or deluxe model and not the consoles standard controller. If it is the standard, then I think it's safe to assume that the Eye 2.0 will be bundled/built-in with the new console.

Oh really? Didn't know the Ouya controller had built-in Move functionality and a built-in speaker/microphone as well.

I am really sick of the PS controllers having the absolute worst directional pad in existence.
The PS4 looks to be the exact same in that regard.
Also, I hate vibration. I actually use my oldschool sixaxis ps3 controllers over the dualshocks. Lighter and dont have to bother with vibration settings for every game I play.

At least it isnt the boomerang controllers.

can't you turn vibration off in the controller menu rather than in each game. also, isn't the 360 known for the worst d-pad? never heard a complaint about Sonys dpad.

Yeah, I'm not sure if this dude ever used a 360 controller before because their d-pad is an absolute joke compared to the DS3. Both the Vita and DS3 have top notch d-pads in my book.

I know it's a prototype, but I can't imagine the final product looking very nice or feeling very comfortable based off that design. I hope to god they stay with the old D-pad design.

I also don't get what the tiny ass touch pad area could possible be used for, if that's what it's supposedly ends up being. It honestly looks more like an old LED display (like the ones used in digital clocks).

I think this would be pretty cool. Not sure I agree it's like the VMU, but having the XMB on the controller at all times would be sweet.

I am not sure about that. It has been a while since I used the dualshock , I stocked up on some sixaxis controllers and never use dualshock on PS3.

A better design would be to use the snes d pad.

As for the 360, One of the main reasons I don't own a 360 is because of the controller it uses. Other reasons are no blu, failure rates, and xbox live costs.

you really cry that 360 has no blu ray it's not big deal, xbox failure rates since slim came out in 2010 has been very low. xbox live costs 60 bucks a year most of the time you can get it for 40 bucks a year. OMG 40 bucks a year that brakes the bank.

The problem isnt that Live breaks the bank, its that you are paying for a year long online pass (and not even for games but for shit like Netflix too). People complain about game online passes, but at least you arent paying more for it when you buy the game new. And the differences between psn and live arent big enough to warrant charging for it in the first place.

$40 a year for mediocre online AND the only way to access Netflix and other streaming service. No thanks.

Yeah, the actual price of Live Gold isn't the problem but rather the kinds of things which are pay-gated and the fact that Microsoft is basically the only one in the industry charging for access to those things let alone online multiplayer.

Microsoft and Sony have to be extremely careful with how they treat backwards compatibility, charging for online play, and what-all digital content carries over come next-gen considering Valve's plans.

A Steambox will have free online play and give me access to decades worth of PC games so one little misstep on either Microsoft or Sony's end will have me forsaking their brands in favor of putting that potential console money into my Steam library.

I've already stopped my digital console purchases until their plans are made clear as there is simply no sense in pissing away money in an ecosystem which doesn't respect my library going forward.
