Quantcast Some links will now automagically convert to CAG links (with box art!) PART II - Cheap Ass Gamer
Home

Search Bar

This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.

After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.

Tips

Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title!
Example: guitar hero 360

You don't need to click a pop-up tab to filter results. Just type what you are looking for right into the search bar.
Example: gears of war prices
Example: ninjatown review

REVAMPED-THE NEW METHOD

Ok here is the new way this will work....

If you post a link like so:
Code:
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/220436.asp

or

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=B645343A
it will appear like this when viewed:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/220436.asp

or

http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?...%5Fid=B645343A

The boxart image will be added to the post automatically and clicking on the link will redirect users through CAG's affiliate link so CAG gets credit for the sale.

Currently this works with EBgames, Gamestop, Buy.com, and Amazon.
We haven't been able to get the images working with Kmart and Circuit City yet, but their links get redirected properly.

You should make a new forum (or topic) so if we ever buy anything from these stores we can use the cheap ass link and get you a little dough.

Great idea CheapyD!

I know that. I'm just saying that if we ever buy anything from an affiliate, we should put it in a topic and use it. Unless that is against the condiotions of being an affiliate, but it seems that if we were to buy things from these sites often, we should just do it through here as thanks to CheapyD

He is saying there should be a way to generate CAG affiliate links on the fly in case you want to buy something that isn't already linked from a forum.

I believe if you use the "Store Links" drowdown (at the top of the forum) to browse a store, any purchases made during that session will give a kickback to Cheapy (if that site has an affiliate program). You don't have to link directly to a product.

I've added link conversion for Kmart, Circuit City, and Buy.com.
