I've got the "Samba Fans" maracas (model # BJ-2006) by Baojie Elecronic Co. & they work fine. I've never used the Sega brand maracas to compare though. But these are working great & I've had them for about 3 yrs

Wtf is up w/ people and these Maracas? Is Samba De Amigo really that hypnotic? I was planning to get it, but I realize those maracas can cost an arm and leg. Seriously, let me on this thing. WTF IS SO GREAT??

I don't know but wanted to try it out. I got a sealed copy from Toys R Us today for 10 bucks and wanted to get some Maracas to get the full effect of the game

Also has anyone tried the maracas from Play-Asia.com? If so are the worth the money?

I just played the game with a controller and you have to have the maracas. I can totally see why they are worth it. Even with a controller I had a huge grim on my face because I knew this was going to become an addiction

I found a set of the sega maracas at a local toys r us last year. The sticker said $80 and I had the cashier check the price, which wasn't even in the computer. He asked me how much I would pay and I said ten bucks. He must have been a manager or something because he let me have them!

What do you mean by that? The game seems really fun. I do not even like Dance games and was totally drawn in by the game with just a controller.

If the game was so whack how come no one wants to give up their set?

never played DDR, but have a desire to try it out. I am trading for a pad as we speak.

Usually I could care less about music games like this but I do not have much time to play games and need things that are pick up and play

its no big deal. I just kind of want to see what all these kids that play these music games see in them

personally I have never liked DDR, but have only played it once so I cant really judge it

DDR is fun after you learn the basic techniques. I still need to get a pair of maracas :(

Not sure which pad you're getting, but the Konami pad that came with DDRMAX2 and DDR Ultramix are surprisingly very good quality.

I got my Samba & official maraccas back when they first released. Paid full price for both and never regretted it for a second. Sorry I can't offer an opinion on the 3rd-party controllers as I've never used them - but by all means, get some kind of maraccas for the game. It's very fun, and a great party game.

I dunno what kind of pad it is. Getting one for the DC.

I just started playing Samba and I can't stop. I NEED TEH Maracas!!!!

and thanks for telling me what you thought of them argyle. I was wondering because play asia says that the 3rd party ones have better detection, but overall I do not like 3rd party stuff

I have a pair of King of marracas, they are 3rd party. I haven't use them in awhile and the left one did was not 100% accurate, but I played on easy so I did ok. Try to find a first party set, but be aware that your goind to drop at least 50+ bucks on them. But maybe you'll get lucky and find a pair cheap.
