If you have an apple store B&M check there. I saw about 5 minis on clearance for $219 about a week ago. My apple store has a clearance table in the back.

the educational discount does work with ipods. i think, for instance, a 20gb ipod ends up being $269 before tax. it will at least save you on tax.

CompUSA has 20% off ipod mini's right now. it brings the price to $199.99 with a penny shipping. the code is BEADS2. you have to use it for ipods that can be delivered.

I just ordered a 40gig ipod from CompUSA using the 20% off code. Still a lot of money but the best deal I've seen so far. Thanks CAG!!!

No it doesn't work and gets cancelled even if it goes through.

No, I mean if I just go on the apple website, say I go to school X and place my order... do they check up on that stuff?

sometimes they do. the best thing to do is find someone you know that is in school, or a teacher of any kind. that way you get the discount.
