I have to agree. I spent about a whole summer addicted to RnR racing. Bomberman is also really really good. My friend brought it over along with his multi tap and it got played for hours

What are we at the park for except to win? I'd trip my mother. I'd help her up, brush her off, tell her I'm sorry. But mother don't make it to third.

NHL '94. You should be able to find it at gamecrazy for $1. me and my brother logged countless hours into that game.

Secret of Mana definitely! A few more:

Final Fight 2 & 3

and some more obscure titles:

Peacekeepers, Brawl Brothers, Captain Commando, Power Rangers The Movie (all like Final Fight)

Another multiplayer game I really liked was (ok, this sounds weird): Tiny Toons Wacky Sports. Up to 4 could play with the multi-tap. It consisted of maybe 8 or so "sports" events where you could all more or less compete at the same time. It was the "Mario Party" of the time.

I enjoy playing Tetris Attack head to head with friends, and Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat 2 get votes for 2 of the best fighting games from that era.
