I picked it up for $10 a long time ago, and sold it. I didn't care for it, and no it's not rare.

Here's a good rule, if it's in the Wal Mart bargain bin this long after release, it's generally not going to be a rare game.

The game is not rare. In fact you can buy a new copy off of Half.com for around $11.00. I do have to disagree with the other posters about the quality of this game. HR KING is by far the best baseball game for the cube. The game does not have all of the bells and whistles like Franchise Mode and setting the price for hot dogs, but the gameplay is a blast! For $11.00 this game is a steal if you like Baseball. The fielding is a little quirky at first, but you quickly get used to it after a few games. I would highly recommend it.

Why would that affect your purchasing decision?

I have no idea why sega went out and made a new baseball game when they could have just ported World Series onto the cube. I bought it early last year for 20 and returned it.

Actually some of the rarest games for modern systems are sports games:

Genesis: Madden Football Championship Edition
Gamecube: NCAA Basketball 2K3

Granted sports games come in 2 categories of rarity... Ultra Common or Ultra Rare.

But Home Run King isn't a rarity at all, but it's great if you want to hear "Now Batting, #29 Kansas City Royals, MIKE SWEENEY!"
