Need a deal on DVD-Rs

I haven't invested much in DVD-R/+R discs since I got my burner a little while back, but I'm looking to do so now. Only problem is most of the 'deals' I'm seeing on them is for 3 packs or 5 packs. And the cost comes to about $2 a disc. I know I can get a better price than that. Anyone have any suggestions? I wouldn't mind a spindle of 50 or 100.

Forgot all about that site. I'll keep an eye out. So far, the best I've found is about $.60 per disc. But $.40 a disc would be even better

If I were you, I'd be wary of the $.40 and $.60 discs. Unlike cd-rs, which seems like any brand works, the cheaper dvd-r/+rs often crap out on you. Go to www.nomorecoasters.com for some good info and dvdrhelp.com has a searchable database of media manufacturers. You can easily find weekly deals in stores for high end media for $1 a disc. You can buy some good OEM ones off websites for less than $1 a disc as well.

I saw the ones on newegg, just not sure of the quality. The reviews on the site are good, but the page linked above lists them as 2nd class.

Office Max:

KHYPERMEDIA DVD-R 50 PACK
$29.99 after rebates

$69.99 - $20 instant rebate - $20 mail in rebate = $29.99

May have ended so YMMV

What do you mean 2nd class? These are excellent dvd-r's.

Those newegg ritek G04s may be listed as 2nd class on that webpage, but it does say 85-95% success rate. They're good, but not the best though. Ive burned 41 and I just have one coaster. Some of them have read problems when run through tests on my pc, but they seem to play back fine. By comparison, I bought a spindle of one of the crap medias, and not a single one worked. I also have some of the 1st class media and they all burn flawlessly and have great pc read tests.

Those Khypermedia discs are showing as 4th class on the digitalfaq.com site, which means less than 50% success. Not worth the risk.
