I was wondering this, cause I have a wireless router, but no wireless card in my PC, its just directly pluged in the router, so my question is...am I able to play in my house, without a wireless card in my pc, but just by using a wireless router.

It should work just like your labtop does. I have wifi at home with 1 pc wired but 1 pc wireless, my ps2 wireless and my labtop wireless. Its pretty much plug and play stuff. It will find the signal and connect to it(maybe ask you if you want to connect to so and so network). so yeah it functions like all other wifi does(or at least it should!)

yes you can...all that matters is the wifi is up(connected to your modem) just because you arent using the signal doesnt mean its not there

...y'know, I haven't really thought about it! Guess I just figured it would use wireless fairies to find my router, 802.11 of them, exactly. Seriously, I just thought it would automatically search for any open networks and log on. Hmmmmmmm.......

Now we're getting mixed up. When you say wireless modem, what exactly do you mean? What make and model is it, and what service are you connecting to with it? There are wireless modems in existence but unless you're using a laptop with the Verizon service or something similar I think you might mean something other than a wireless modem.

I hope it has provisions for using a WEP key and not just open networks. My idiot neighbors have flooded the area with unsecured accesspoints. It's pretty easy to get into their PCs and change their screen saver to something like large scrolling text that says, "I SAW WHAT YOU DID." My own network is secure but I do allows friends access when they come over. I wouldn't want to have to set up MAC filtering.

But you DO have a network card. The NIC in you PC is how you are connected to your wireless cable/DSL modem (router) ... using an RJ45 cable (like but thick than a phone wire - RJ11).

If that becomes an issue, why wouldn't you just use your neighbors' connections? I mean the PSP isn't going to interact with any of your network's PCs, so an open connection is an open connection to the internet.
