PSP Purchasing Problem

I have over $300 in cash that I've collected over the past 2 years or so at work in my desk. It is a collection of loose change from lunches or just extra $1 bills in my pocket creating clutter. I am thinking about getting a PSP but I know the wifey will want to know where I got the money from in order to buy it. She would not be pleased with me going out and buying it outright because I already have "too many video game systems" (she's crazy - I don't even have an Xbox :P). I'm not into lying or hiding things from my wife so buying it and trying to do so is a no-go. I'd just like some advice on how to spring this on her...

Why don't you tell her you bought it with spare change from your desk that you've amassed over years of lunch money?

Or tell her you traded a bum a bottle of Jack Daniels for it straight up.

Why not just buy something for the wifey or take her out to a nice dinner? Then she might not question the money and you've got a nice get out of jail free card for any future slip ups

Tell her that you entered a raffle or contest at your local EB or Gamestop store by droping a business card or something, and tell her you won.

You can even call her during the day to say you'll be late coming home because you have to go to the store after work to claim your prize.

Worked for me.

Tell her your mistress bought it for you in attempts to save that affair. You said, "No, I love my wife too much, this can no longer be."

So she offered you the system. It's a win-win situation. Your wife sees you turn down the other woman because you love her so much and you get the PSP.

Or you could just tell her the truth.

Whatever works.

Dont do it it's a trap. i bet a woman posted that or even worse *gasp* your wife. I say buy it and say it was a gift from the guys at work. or if you dont like to lie you should let a friend buy it for you and give it to you.

tell her you bought it straight up, deal with the nagging, and move on.

And then hit her

Either:

tell you you simply had som extra cash laying around like you said (Which could be a tra because she could wonder why you didn't spend it on her... depends on what type of wooman she is)

or:

Tell her you won a bet between you and a co-worker she dosent know. (A friend of mine won a Gamcube from his co-workers by betting he could eat an entire bucket of ice cream in a single lunch hour.)

Tell you are doing a top secret project for CAG and that it requires you have a PSP at launch.

It works for me!

Say you did a trade-in deal and got it for $100 in games (or an appropriate ammount)

Now there's an idea!

I'm not going to lie to her and it definitely isn't a matter of "I should be spending the money on her" because she's not like that at all. It's more a matter of "it's a waste of money"...

Hey, you are a lawyer working long hours and making significant money, you should be able to buy yourself a little toy like this pretty much no questions asked, IMHO.

I agree but I used up that excuse about a month ago to buy a 40GB iPod photo. These companies are killing me with their cool products that I must buy! There's also the fact that we have an extra mouth to feed now and wifey stopped working for now to take care of the baby...

If she complains about u wasting money on the PSP, just cry a little bit until she walks away confused. Works every time.

Tell her the truth but then...

Grab some old junk from around the house and put it up on Ebay. Show her you are selling old stuff to warrant your new purchase.

Tip: Remember you could pretty much put anything on Ebay and someone out there will buy it.
