Officia Smart Bomb Site This site lists features and info on the game with a few pics.

I haven't seen any threads on this game, so I figured I'd post to inform those of you that don't know this game.

There are a lot of things that one could expect out of Core Design -- the company behind Lara Croft's behind has a long roster of titles and projects that include racers, flying games, even the under-rated (albeit under-framerated) shepherding game Herdy Gerdy. Even so, it comes as unexpected news that the first title from Core Designs on PlayStation Portable, to be published by Eidos as part of the PSP launch line-up, is a puzzle game. But Smart Bomb isn't just any puzzle game, and for a team which has seen some key staffer departures after an overlong affair with Tomb Raider, this could be just the fresh new start it needs.

The European official of Eidos officially announced Smart Bomb today, confirming its intents to be part of the European PSP launch (the US game was confirmed on SCEA's PSP launch list, but has not been officially announced yet.) An action-puzzle game, Smart Bomb is a taut 3D puzzler where you are rookie Bomb Disposal Unit operative working for B.D.U. expert Micelle Grace. The leader of the bomb unit, Colonel Cage, has gone missing just as a new threat emerges targeting the civilized world. Now you must unravel the puzzling bomb designs to tap into the bomb's networked location using the advanced VR bomb visualizer system -- a tool which looks remarkably like what you and I know as a PlayStation Portable.

With sophisticated AI in the bomb circuit board spread across multiple tiers leading players closer and closer to the detonator at its core, Smart Bomb promises tension and constant brain twisting. Wireless multiplayer is available for up to four players to race to stop the clock, with other gameplay modes including Story mode, Arcade mode and Challenge mode.

Look for impressions of how Smart Bomb plays as soon as Eidos has diffused this dangerous game for us by cutting the green wire ... no wait, we mean the blue wire!

Looks pretty cool, hopefully it plays well. It looks like it even has a story, something that's not a requirement for a puzzler.

I don't think I could bring myself to spend $40-$50 on a puzzle game.

I don't know why but the screenshots remind me of the VR missions in metal gear solid (ps1.)

Looks pretty cool though.
