It would be sweet if Nintendo debued the *true* sucessor to the GBASP that will directly compete with the PSP...

It would be sweet, but if they plan on showing the new Zelda, information on Revolution, and new DS stuff such as online plans, it might not be such a good idea.

i really dont think the next gameboy will be shown. it would hurt the ds, they probably would reveal it later this year and i doubt well see it before 2006. but whether they show it at e3 or not im sure it will be amazing because theyll be aiming to top the psp

the DS is NOT the next gameboy. which is why you won't see the next gameboy at E3. It would just confuse the heck out of a lot of people who bought, or were thinking of buying, a DS.

I say you will see the new gameboy at E3 it will come out worldwide Xmas 2005 and you will see the DS just fade out by next summer. Ds was a good idea but lack of softwere is killing it

I don't think nintendo would do that even if they could. that would be a terrible business decision. as of right now, the DS is doing fine next to the PSP. they have plenty of time to fine tune the next GB

Yup, absolutely killing it.

We won't see/hear anything about the next gameboy at this year's e3. This year will be all about Zelda, the DS, and the Revolution.

They'll give the DS at least another year to prove itself and find its niche, before they even think about showing off GBA2. They have to give their product a chance to succeed before they pull the plug on it and that's what would happen with the release of GBA2.

thats japan marketplace not usa. games been out what almost 6 months and name 10 must own games for this system. let alone name 10 fun games for this system. Most cant. animal crossing and advance wars are rumored to be pushed now to spring 2006 or even cancelled. I say if you dont see major push for these two titles you might as well say they wont be out in 2005. Love how they was to come out BY march 2005 now its Winter 2005. i mean come on all you DS owners who have a sp. How many times have you really taken your DS out of the box to play Ds games. I got my DS back in Jan 2005 and took it out maybe 4 times at the most .

nintendo already said that the new gameboy will not compete with the DS that its 2 different systems. so i wouldnt be shocked to see the New gameboy at E3

the thing is that doesn't matter AT ALL. Overall (including Japan, USA, Europe) the DS is outselling the PSP. And there are many games in development for the DS right now. It would be completely pointless for Nintendo to just ditch a product that selling extremely well because they haven't YET put out enough games. That's just plain stupid. There will be no GBA2 at E3 (maybe they'll mention it in an interview, but probably no official anouncements). As long as the DS keeps outselling the PSP, it will stay around.

and just because Nintendo says the GBA 2 will not compete with the DS doesn't mean they are dumb enough to have both systems released within a year of each other. MOST PEOPLE (by most people i mean most people that don't follow the game industry but do buy games) think that the DS is the next gameboy. Even though nintendo claims they are different, i have a feeling that they are smart enough to not doom their own systems by releasing two portable systems.

There are more titles in production for the DS than the PSP. Following your logic, that means that the PSP is truly ed.

I can't name 10 must own games for the GBA. Hell, I don't think I can name 10 must own games for any system.

There WILL be a GBA announcement, but not what you'd expect - they will be talking about the Play-Yan US launch. Rumor has it, they are integrating it with a new rev of the GBA SP, and cutting the price of the standard SP.

is the play yan the media player for GBA?

and as tromack said, naming 10 must own games for any system is pretty difficult, let alone a system that has only been out for 5 months.

In the latest issue of EMG they do an interview with a nintendo rep called something like "Nintendo: Past, Present, Future." At the end of the interview they ask about the possibility of seeing the next GBA soon, and while not stating it outrightly, he pretty much says that there will be something related to it at E3.
