Earlier today, we received a nice little tidbit in an e-mail regarding the 360. As is already known, there will be two packages ready in the fall.

One consists of the bare, basic console, controller, cables, etc. It will retail for the standard $299.99 USD.

The other contains the 360, controller(s?), remote, and the HDD (with extra content). We couldn't get a comment on the chance of this package having the camera bundled. This will retail for the bargin, and fairly uninspired, price of $360 USD.

See what they did there? Xbox 360, $360. Cute.

Sounds plausible enough. Hopefully this is correct.

If it ships for $299, it will make everyone (including me) who bought a PSP look kinda dumb.

Will? Trust me, you already do.

If it makes you feel better I think the same for the people who bought a DS and then bitch there are no games for it.

I doubt it will be 360... either 350 or 300. Hopefully i can convince the rents to get me the bare bone one for xmas, although i might add some of my own money if the extras are worth it.

Gamecube

Crap! This sucks. This means if there are any games I really want (which didn't happen this gen with the Xbox) and I have the extra cash, I am going to have to get one... Oh well. Nintendo will probably dissuade me in a week though. We'll see...

that I'm too used to paying $100 - $250 for consoles. $360 sounds like a shitload of money to spend on video games to me, maybe if it's backwards compatible.

$360 is good for me. I saw something on another message board about 2 versions of live as well...something like the silver version is free, and will allow you to DL content, as well as play on the weekends in multiplayer games for free. You will not be able to play multiplayer games during the week. The Gold version will allow you to play online anytime..Their was no info on pricing, except that the silver is free. We will find out either this thursday, or early next week

I thought the Xbox 360 with the HD bundle was going to retail for $399. It would be great if the actual price really is $360!...

Man if the one with the HD launches as $360 I may actually buy a Xbox360 at launch. $400 I wasn't going to, but at $360 thats very tempting. And if Dead or Alive 4 is among the launch titles, I'm sold.

Yes, $360 is very tempting, but I'm going to wait until prices of Xbox 360 games drop, before I buy the console...

If the HD version does in fact come with Halo 2.5 already installed, then I'm sold.

BTW that Live plan sounds pretty sweet. If it comes to pass it could really open up the online community (which could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it).
