Yeah the screenshots are underwhelming to me as well. The backgrounds seem to be the most obvious improvement (but I guess DOA is about backgrounds as much as anything else). I don't care for the DOA fighting system (compared to VF), but it'll be interesting to see what changes they make to the system and how the game looks in motion. At this point, the only next gen fighting game I'm thinking will impress is the next Virtua Fighter (imagine with DOA's environments, online play better than DOA:U, etc.). I can imagine Itagaki totally hyping his new game at E3 now tho, hehehe...
