The footage last night looked like it was in-game footage. The way the defender tipped the ball and how Owens caught it didn't seem like it was FMV.

If EA found a way to make the game look that pretty, I may have to lift my house's EA ban. That clip looked unreal.

The camera angles were too dramatic and not 'gameplay' enough to seem like gameplay, BUT other than that, it seemed like gameplay. Late last night my brother showed me a Madden 06 clip and it had those same graphics, but someone was obviously pulling play calling menus up on top of them.

I'd lean towards it being gameplay, but those graphics were so intense I'm still not sure.

That's true, but they might have been using different camera angles to try to create more impact than a normal angle would have.

I thought of that as well.

Here's the video I saw last night, the commercial from EPSN's draft coverage.

Wow. We must be watching a totally different video or have opposite definitions of realism.

The players are too bulky. This makes them look short and squat.

Olinemen dont even look human.

Animations were fluid. The stadium and lighting effects were darn good.

But as with everything madden, its smoke and mirrors. The gameplay will be recycled just as the player models have been (please tell me you guys dont really see football players like that!) Madden is an old beater car. It gets you from point A to B. Now they throw on a new coat of paint and everybody screams "Ferrari". Depressing.

And for those who will argue "we dont know about gameplay yet", youre right. But they really didnt inovate for 4 years in a row when they had competition. Why when they are the only game in town would they now?

I agree with you on them not innovating much but the cone of vision for qbs that they are installing in the upcoming edition looks like a cool ass feature

Throwing a scrap to a starving man doesnt do him much good. If you want a shocker, read the press releases for Madden on IGN. Over half the features they tout were in ESPN THIS year.

The big push this year is the juke stick (still lesser since its either bowl the guy over or dance around) and the career stuff (take a player from cradle to the grave) Maybe its just me but none of that is exciting.

Madden was, is, and for the next 5 years will be stagnent. Each year it will get a little bit prettier and they ll add a couple new features just so they dont have a full on revolt. A lot of people are content with this, I personally think its a load of BS.

Will EA finally get their crap together this year and actually build a game from scratch for the 360, or are we going to have to live with another "make it for PS2, then port it to the other systems" game? Xbox hasn't gotten a good looking Madden game ever because of this.

I doubt it will be a port from a ps2 to 360 but it will be mediocre. They will put in just enough time to get a decent product out the door. Why do anything more when It will look better (since its next gen), theres no competition, and they also have the "oh its so hard figuring out this new hardware" excuse to fall back on.

Madden will be same as it ever was. I will sell the same, maybe even better due to next gen status. Madden is a game that the non games savvy public buys happily because they just dont know any better. Thats why it gets huge sales because EVERYBODY buys it because its all they know.
