I just heard the news and was gonna post it, but you beat me to it. This is huge, there is nothing left to say. This is a bomb to Sony's camp, its not an original title so it's not gonna destroy sony, but it will turn some heads now that SE is supporting MS.

i think youre over-reacting quite a bit here, sure its a SE title, but its also a crappy mmorpg.

if they got ff12, that would be huge...but this? SE just wants a bigger user base to be able to keep their servers running.

I think you underestimating the importance of SE support especially for an American company. Don't get me wrong, I know it's an old crappy game but it's still support, big news considering SE through away the original Xbox dev kits as soon as they got them.

Why would they make FFXI for the Xbox 360? It would make a lot more sense for it to be an Xbox title, considering its graphics are two years old, and if you plan on allowing people to play with others, wouldn't you want the engine to be in line with the other titles?

also it says for Xbox, not Xbox 360, or at least that is the interpretation I get

It won't be on the Xbox it will be the 360 just by comparing how much space it uses on a HDD. On the PS2 HDD it uses 10+ GB of space for FFXI and the two expansion packs.

then that pretty much makes the hard drive for the Xbox 360 useless considering one games is going to use over half of it
