Do they ever mention that his forearms were enlarged to fit his claws or were really big to begin with? Did Marvel ever try to explain how they fit the claws into his arms?

...damn you. I dont know.

I think with the very odd backstory, the claws are original (made of bone) and THEN had the adamantium injected into him thanks to the weapon x project. That way the "room" in his arms would already be thier to compenste for the metal claws.

no mention is made of a "fore-arm enlarging". they never try to explain how the claws fit. its not the discovery channel, its a comic book.

Yes, he had the claws before the admantium. It didn't make much sense because he had no way to extend them without injuring himself. Once he lost the admantium, his claws had to tear through his skin to extend.

i would agree with that, except both Wolverine :Origins and Wolverine : the End both try and fill in all those little "I Wonder"'s let alone the years of x-comics with various answers.

He he. Talking about stupid crap like this is actually my job. I think this thread just made my day

They actually said in an offical capacity that Wolvy had the claws before the admantium? That he was born with them?

Fairly certain he did. Unless they say that he developed bone claws after Magneto tore the admantium from his body. Makes more sense that he had them all along.

In fact, if you read the Weapon X story from way back in Marvel Comics Presents, it seems they offer a hint on this. As they are fusing the admantium to his skeleton, a technician mentions that they are using more admantium than they had expected. It implies that no one knew he had claws.

Magneto took the admantium out of Wolvy? WTF?

You can tell I haven't read comics in a long time.

What happened?

The X-Men fought Magneto on Asteroid M when Magneto was offering asylum to mutants afflicted by the mutant-only virus/plague. Can't remember what it was called. Basically gave Mags another reason to wage war on normal humans. Magneto got pissed while fighting and used his powers to tear the admantium from Wolverine's skeleton. The metal literally oozed out of his pores.

Later, Wolverine finds that his healing factor had been inhibited by the admantium. He can heal like ten times faster after the removel of admantium, but he also became more feral. He also discovered he had bone claws (as can be seen in Marvel Vs Capcom 2).

During a confrontation between magneto and the X-Men, Magneto used his magnetic powers to extract all the adamantium from Wolverine’s body. It was afterwards that Wolverine learned that his claws were not implants but actual parts of his skeleton. The removal of the adamantium somehow caused Wolverine’s personality to become more feral temporarily. The X-Men’s enemy Apocalypse brainwashed Wolverine into serving him as Death, one of his “Horsemen”. To make him more formidable, Apocalypse had adamantium bonded to Wolverine’s skeleton once more. Wolverine has since regained his free will and rejoined the X-Men. To prevent a gang war in Madripoor, Wolverine recently married the female terrorist known as the Viper, She then took control of Madripoor and forced him to leave the island.

So he still doesn't have the admantium in the comics, or did he get it back?

It is wierd to think of Wolverine without admantium.

Aw, they reset Wolverine!

I can't believe I remembered what I did. It's been years since I was into comics. I stopped reading entirely when they said Peter Parker was really a clone all these years, and the 'real' Spider-Man appeared. ugh
