My Reasoning: PS2 is the only console that was ever backwards compatible so far, and the controllers for PS1 work great on PS2 (save for Dynasty Warriors 4). Will gamecube controllers/wavebird work then? Reason for asking: I don't have a gamecube yet, but i do buy my games whenever I can find them on sale. I have about 6 games and I own 3 wavebirds. My dilema is when I should buy a system. I would buy a gamecube right now with the buy a used one for $69.99 plus a free game at gamerush, but with the new system coming out soon, i figure I might as well get the next gen since it will be backwards compatible anyways. HOwever, I do want to use my wavebirds so i am in a dilema. (If somewhat could offer me advice when I should buy my Nintendo system, it would greatly be appreciated.) Thanx in advance |

If you can let Zelda pass you by that long,... I'd say go for it.
Apparently, you'll be able to plug in your GC controllers to the unit. There is no final design,... but if Nintendo strays too far away,... people will be left with all kinds of missinformation. I think you should just plop down your $70 and get a Cube. That's the fanboy in me though. Link says "HI"!

The GameBoy Color and GBA are also backwards-compatible, of course.

Yes the Wavebird and any other Gamecube controllers (woo hoo! bongos!) will work on the Revolution
![]() The controller ports have been turned upside down on the Rev so the Wavebird receivers fit fine also when the Rev is sitting horizontally. If I were you I'd just buy the used Cube now since you can probably make most of your money back selling it again if you don't want to keep it when the Rev comes out.

Wow... three Wavebirds from someone without the system....
Just buy the damn system. It comes buddled with a game or two all the time, like this week at Target it's $97 and comes with Metriod Prime 2. |

Buy the Cube....and add a Gameboy Player. This way you have a reason to keep it when the REV comes out.
