I personally think Nintendo should appeal more to the hip hop urban crowd. We need pictures of Reggie spray painting logos on walls and poppin' caps in asses. REVOLUTION: IM LUVIN IT HOMIE DAWG

Either that or Mario should start the Revolution communist style, like that one website purported the original SMB was advertising. EIN REICH NINTENDO

Yes. Now that would kick ass.

Not to speak for whoever made this poster, but I think it's supposed to be dissing the Xbox (which is fine by me).

There has been three more "leaked" since this one. The thing I don't understand is the new August date on the last one. March was really a surprise, but August is insane. I don't think its for the launch of the system but maybe some sort of PR or something or the official start of the ad campaign. Which would make sense because they will be looking to steal some pre-release xbox 360 thunder.

There is however, the possibility this is just spec work for an RFP from an agency to get the Revolution contract. But with the ties (?) to the UK, that wouldn't make sense, since Leo Burnett is NOA's agency. I guess we'll see.

The thing that makes me raise an eyebrow at these now is the treatment of the word "ON" in the final poster. It seems (?) to be referencing that fake (?) NintendoOn Video that was flying around before E3. I was under the impression that it was a complete fake and had been deemed as such. The other issue is that the company responsible for the site that hosted the video was a UK web firm with no client experience. So I thought it was a viral piece they had created themselves to get their own brand out there. But this poster which I thought was real, referencing that makes me step back and reserve judgement. At least until August

part that talks about this:

RUMOR #3: A leaked teaser poster for the Nintendo Revolution reveals it will launch in March 2006.

Source: A slew of forums that trace back to Japanese game site Quiter.

The official story: US Nintendo reps declined to comment on the poster.

What we heard: One of the few facts Nintendo has made official about the Revolution this month is that it will ship in 2006. However, that 365-day release window has sparked much speculation. Since the company divulged so few details at its E3 press conference, the majority opinion was that the console is not very far along in development and will probably launch in Q4 2006. That said, some industry insiders believe it may ship sooner than expected. The latter theory got some additional ammo this week, when what looks like a Revolution teaser poster hit the Web. Written in English, the all-black poster bears the tagline "THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX," over the sentences, "A NEW EXPERIENCE IS COMING" and "THE REVOLUTION STARTS MARCH 2006." Underneath is an outline of the Revolution's distinctive front, with the control buttons below the DVD drive's long blue LED--the same blue as the words "BOX" and "REVOLUTION." At the poster's bottom is the official seal of approval, a red-and-white Nintendo logo. While professional looking, the poster does raise a few red flags. Its design looks eerily reminiscent of the PlayStation 3 teaser posters Sony posted at E3, and its uninspired tagline could be thought up by an ad-agency intern. It's a little obvious, even for Nintendo. But if the poster is legit, then the Revolution will likely ship before the PlayStation 3's "spring 2006" launch, implying a Q2 release. It would also mean that Nintendo could soon stage a surprise demonstration of the power of its fully operational next-gen console, blindsiding skeptics and energizing the faithful. But unless you're a devout Nintendo fan, one image isn't enough to go on, even though such a scenario would further liven up an already exciting 2005.

Bogus or not bogus? We'll see in the coming months.

These posters are totally true because Nintendo always does stuff like this when they are keeping secrets.

I wouldn't be suprised if at least the date (March 2006) was correct. Nintendo had a great poker face with their online plans (even under intense media scrutiny), so why not the same thing with the release date of Revolution?

These ads have been deemed fake by Gamespot and here's the rumor that they've posted.

RUMOR #4: More ads have surfaced for the Nintendo Revolution launch--one of which implies it will sense motion.

Source: Freshly minted next-gen fan site RevoGaming.net.

The official story: "Nintendo does not comment on rumors or speculation."--Nintendo rep.

What we heard: Last week, a semi-convincing ad surfaced which appeared to promote a March 2006 launch for the Revolution. This week, RevoGaming published several variants on the ad, including one that features Metroid's Samus and another with the console's distinctive blue DVD-slot LED. "Sources speaking to RevoGaming have claimed that at the very least the original image and the [LED image] are real, and are photos taken of some ads at a display," said the site. "Their main point is that the ads appear to be printed on high-quality paper and [are] behind glass...Some sources also claimed that the photos are from a display of different ads shown to Nintendo by various advertising companies vying for a contract." However, it's RevoGaming's third image that is the most interesting. Instead of the "THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX," the tagline is "SOMETHING IS GOING ON." The fact that the word "ON" is highlighted in blue like the word "BOX" in the original ad raises some Soviet-military-parade-sized red flags. That's because just before E3, an ornate video hit the Web showing a Virtual Boy-like device named the "Nintendo On" which sensed movement, Minority Report-style, and has no buttons whatsoever. When a Spanish computer animator claimed he created the video to protest how "commerciality forces companies to put out new consoles every 2 or 3 years," it was dismissed by the public. However, the fact the image on RevoGaming is hyping something called the "ON" means one of two things. Either the ad is fake or the On video was real after all, meaning Nintendo has something very revolutionary up its sleeve. But after giving the ad a closer second look, it looks like the former is the case. Instead of saying the Revolution is coming in "MARCH 2006," the "On" ad says above "AUGUST 2005." So either the ad agency in question needs to get a new copy editor, or the ad is....

Bogus or not bogus?: ...Bogus.

I would believe that we'd have it by March (if not sooner).
